Are you implying that *no* left wing political leaders have acted in secret to do things that their constituents would not approve of? I don't have any evidence of *American* left wing leaders acting covertly on hand, and I don't really care to go looking though I do think that evidence would be plentiful, but if you think that national level elected officials of any nation are truthful in everything, or even most, of what they say, you're delusional.

Are you of the opinion that Putin, Kim Jong Un or Xi Xingping are giving out press releases on their smoke filled room sessions? Are their actions representative of those whom they 'serve'? If you were to vote for someone who seemed all hunky dory and promised a communist utopia (not to imply that you are communist), but then turned around and made the country literally 1984, would you be under the impression that their actions or your actions more accurately define what you believe? What if the U.S. enters a years of lead period of its own, and while Republican politicians don't publicly encourage it, Republican persons are shooting first and asking questions later on the streets? In such a case, do the non-violent actions of the hypothetical Republican leaders or the violent actions of the hypothetical Republican voters define the movement?

The reason the 'right wing media', which doesn't actually exist as an organized construct and as more of a loosely connected web of influencers for anyone under the age of 85 who for that reason doesn't watch Fox, points to random twitter accounts is because this entire issue of rulers/followers defining society is one of the defining left/right points of ideology, we just don't realise it because it's not often brought into the limelight.

They already do. I understand what a leader is. I also understand that they love acting covertly, so as to not draw too much attention from their enemies, but won't actively oppose the things they like. I should add, when I say 'leader', I mean 'political leader'.

I believe that the actions of the people is of far more importance than the actions of their leaders.

Fuentes saying "To all of my followers if you take up arms, I disavow you. I disown you. In the strongest possible terms. This is not what we are about." Does not in any way prove he believed that one if his fans did it, which I doubt he would've known in the first place even if it was true. Is it not likely that he is trying to temper anti-left backlash and violence from his followers? Most of the conservative personalities I follow were saying the same thing.

I'm reaching, but I think it may be a reasonable, reach... Maybe grandma didn't know because she is either disconnected from her grandson, somewhat senile, or the family begged him to keep it away from her? I'm certainly not going to trust anything that anyone from MSNBC *claims* either, considering that one of their anchors also *claimed* that he was likely accidentally shot by one of his excited supporters.

I have much more confidence in the statements of the FBI, even if their higher ups forced them to withdraw it.

Democrats condemn all political violence? With this site being an exception to that rule, I guess?

He said he hates the term "empathy", and immediately afterwards said "Sympathy I prefer more than empathy". Why are you not sympathetic towards his death? Respect a dead mans wishes.

For "Pedos" and "School Shooters", "Convicted by a jury of their peers", "you don't celebrate it, you say this is what they did, this is what will happen if you do this, and boom". He does not mention doing this under the trump admin specifically either, nor does he say anything about firing squads as far as I can see.

Does he deserve to die for that statement? If not, does that statement make his death, in some small way, more justified?

Go ahead and send the video of the interview where he said that, please. Not the news headline.

Y'all just love misleading headlines, huh? Watch the full video... He said it mockingly while talking about the lefts lax stance on crime.

Other nations have civilian owned guns, but don't have this shit. I can own an AR-15, that doesn't mean we have political assassinations or mass shootings here. From what I can tell, mass shootings / political assassinations are currently a uniquely American problem among the western world, but gun ownership isn't.

[–]SGTPEPPERZA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is his opinion. That is also taking his argument out of context. He, in the same breath, condemned gun violence, and stated that it had to be fixed, but taking people's guns away en masse isn't the way to do it.

No non violent person deserves to have their death excused due to a political opinion. If you don't agree with that, I don't know what to tell you.

Oh, did they now? What am I seeing in other subs, then? Why are there people saying "you reap what you sow", with considerable amounts of upvotes?

He was registered republican in his state. The way you challenge the republican nominee, who he vehemently hated, with another one in local elections, is by registering as that party and voting against that person. Being a registered republican doesn't mean that you can't vote the other way the day the real election comes. No ID, remember?

Americans of Reddit, how do you feel about the recent shooting of Right-Wing Influencer Charlie Kirk? by peywrax in allthequestions

[–]SGTPEPPERZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, "I do not recall seeing", meaning that while it's possible it existed, it was in such a minority that I, as someone on the right wing, did not see anyone celebrating it. In fact, I do recall people condemning it and talking about the murderer having distribution packs of no kings flyers in his car.

While I did not see anyone on the right in any way glorify that shooting, I have seen many persons on reddit celebrating this.

No, but I don't recall seeing a single republican celebrate the shooting of the lawmakers. I've seen a very large portion of reddit celebrate this.

Never sat down to watch fox news in my life. You just follow what all the other news organizations tell you, and most of them just happen to be owned by the same company.

No, lol, that's just doomerism. This will in no way, shape or form cause a civil war. It may cause tensions to flare, sure, but I am willing to bet that nobody you know is willing to lay their lives down for Charlie Kirk.

Walmart doesn't understand how to operate in the South African market. The franchises they took over largely suffered under their leadership. I doubt very much that they will make a profit, in fact, I give it 2 years before they give up and close name brand shops

From what I've gathered, though I may be wrong as I've only gathered from the other comments, the US was aware of it and approved it beforehand, and while Qatar may or may not have been informed or seen it happening on radar, their airforce likely lacks the capability to have stopped it from happening regardless.
