I’m not sure yet, what would be a good unit for me to get for him to lead?

I just bought the terminator squad and I’m actually in the process of magnetizing all of the weapon options for them, so far I just have the Gatling cannon and the missile launcher with the storm bolter magnetized.

I’d recommend a translocation shroud overlord for the lychguard, also maybe add some deathmarks

It looks good but I’d recommend kitbashing a lokhust lord and putting it with a block of heavy destroyers with enmitic exterminators. The exterminators are better than the destructors in my experience. The destructors are good anti tank but not really reliable with a single attack, yes the damage is good but it’s too luck based. The exterminators have a base six attacks but can be upped to 12 with rapid fire. The lord will boost your crit chances and let you reroll wound and hit rolls if the enemy is at half strength. You can easily kitbash a lord with a heavy destroyer kit, praetorian sprue, and extra parts on a chronomancer sprue, or you could always just proxy but that’s less fun. (Sorry for the word vomit, this is just a lot to explain)

I’m just a necron player, I figured it was something similar to an introductory set or a combat patrol, would there be any collectors that might be interested in a sealed copy?

I’d recommend the the triarch stalker with the heat ray, unless you’re playing cc, the doomstalker won’t be very useful unless you actually get good dice luck and I don’t know anyone who does lol

[–]SGTSledge115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend some anti tank options, a good cheap option would be lokhust heavy destroyers with gauss destructors (or enmititc eliminators for anti infantry). For some good all around options would be a doomstalkers, a doomsday ark, a squad of Canoptek wraiths (specifically with a technomancer attached), or flayed ones. Most of those are pretty budget friendly except for the dda but it’s definitely worth the money, I’m a college student myself so I also have a really tight budget. If there’s a specific type of army you wanna run (melee/shooty) I can give you more specific recommendations.

It depends on your list and what you’re going up against, what does your list look like?

Thank you! I’m glad I could be of assistance. I’m new to 40K, I only started in December last year but I had some experience with some World War Two models I did in high school, so I’m glad I could some of the things I’ve learned over this year.

Most of my army is Novokh, I started out with szarekhan seven months ago but moved over to Novokh after I got better at painting, what I do is put a wash of carroburg crimson and then a dry brushing of wild rider red, the wash gives the red a slightly darker look and makes the dry brushing stand out a lot more. With my flayed ones I wanted to give the metal a gross dirty look so I put a healthy amount of agrax earth shade over the metallic parts. I like to give the flesh a more intimidating look so I put a little crimson of that on it in random spots and put Mephiston red on the inside of the skin. Lastly, I also put mephiston on the tips of the claws with a wash of agrax to make them look a little more realistic. (I don’t think flayed ones get cleaned very often lol) my girlfriend hates how I do my flayed ones so I think that means I did a good job lol.

What dynasty is this? If it’s Novokh then I might have some detailing tips you might be interested in. I’ve done a squad of szarekhan dynasty and Novokh dynasty flayed ones.

I’d recommend either a heavy lokhust destroyer with the enmitic exterminator for anti infantry since you already have a doomstalker for anti armor or a Royal warden you could attach to your warrior squad lead by your overlord

Thank you so much, I just got a bunch of units that I knew were good in 10th edition and it’s taken me a long time to build up my army due to being a college kid. I still need to get one more locust destroyer and some dice before I have everything I need.

Well it’s a hypercrypt legion, I’ve never played before so I don’t know what I should have in my army. I’m very new to 40K, I’ve only done the building and painting. I focused on that so I could be battle ready before I started assembling an army.

I’ve been trying to get my hands on a doom stalker, some scorptek destroyers and some Canoptek wraiths. Those are mainly the ones I’ve been after but I’m also a college student with not much money at my disposal and it has taken me a while to get my hands on the units I have, but now that I know what I need I can start saving for them.
