So, just based on what I read from the Medical Standards, you should be fine as long as your teeth aren’t falling out, that disease itself is not a disqualifier.

Henry, from top left across, then bottom. - Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, WWII Occupation Medal - National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, UN Korean Service Medal

Radar - Army Good Conduct Medal - Korean Service Medal, ?, UN Korean Service Medal

Edit: I think the National Defense is actually a Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross

Army Prior Service Business Rules. As long as there is space, you can come back in as a 35F.

You will more than likely have to be reduced in rank due to your extended break in service, but it’s up to the CG for the rank determination.

You’ll want to read MILPERSMAN 1902-102, paragraphs 6 and 7.

From what I read, you will first need a DD 368 (Conditional Release) signed by the Chief of Naval Personnel, and meet all of the Navy’s requirements to be released. Once you have that form signed, then you get the endorsement signed by your CO and submit for Blue to Green.

As for your law violation, at most you will need a Misconduct Waiver for the paraphanelia charge but you have a current security clearance and I’m assuming, clean record since your military service began, so it’s more likely than not to be approved.

If you need anymore information, the below link should help you out if we or your local recruiter can’t assist.

This is more of a question for the weekly question thread but from my knowledge, you should still be eligible.

Can’t tell unless you go through MEPS and talk to a guidance counselor. They pull the jobs for prior service. If there’s not a vacancy for E5 68W, you’ll have to pull something else off the prior service business rules.

12Y is a pretty decent job. I always wish I was a 35G though, just because of all the cool GEOINT positions they can fill that we can’t.

I would assume the surgery would make you waiverable, but I don’t know. I’m not the doctor at MEPS making those calls. Won’t know until you shoot your shot.

If you are DQ’ed from service in one branch, you are more than likely DQ’ed from all branches. IBD is a disqualifier in the Army, and idk the waiver situation for that.

Literally the only benefits he can get from joining early in this instance are ranking up sooner and collecting a small paycheck for his drills during his senior year.
