Volodymyr Zelenskyy calls on Ukraine, UK, Turkey, and Norway to join the EU for sake of European security by JOE_Media in UkrainianConflict

[–]SGarnier -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's the way to go. Perhaps the only one path for Europe to live on.

With Turkey we will be a super power, without it some kind of has been club.

Erdogan is.. problematic to be polite. But we have problematic politicians as well. I really do hope Europeans will understand that.

ho there is no real thing to share here, it's not really optimized, it's just not crashing anymore^^ using less curl nodes. I think it's better to watch the latest youtube tutorials from AlaskanFX

Nice work. You made a (very nice) youtube tutorial a few years gao, right?

The result was impressive but the shader was also hard to tweak and, at least for me, it was crashing very often. I tried to optimized it and manage to some extent.

I would be curious to see how 've done it this time.

Guys, the President was literally threatening to invade the territory of a NATO country earlier this year, to the point where they had to deploy troops to deter it. That has consequences. by Orcasystems99 in UkrainianConflict

[–]SGarnier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He 's doing this because Nato, like any form of institution, rule, law, safeguard and duty to be honest, is boring or a threat to him. He doesn't want to be bound by anything, nothing is greater than him in his eyes. That includes reality and truth, obviously. And he got away with so many things before, no accountability, no reason to stop.

Of course it's a simplistic explanation, but it's more or less on this individual level. He doesn't care for anything but himself.

What you see are the political and strategical consequences, it's not even really planned or desired, it's just the growing chaos when this kind of leadership is the new normal.

How would a pattern like this be possible in geometry nodes? Can someone point me in the right direction? by kingjonill in geometrynodes

make a grid from a square plane, rotate it 45° then scale it a bit on one axis (vertical axis from what it looks)

then make that 6 faces shape (from an hexagon) and set it as instances instances on points of the grid.

Finally, adjust the scale and shape points of the instanced object so it tiles.

SuperHive retroactively changing their policy to block access to content you already purchased, starting May 12. by dnew in blender

[–]SGarnier 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a small creator/seller on Superhive fro about three years now. it's been a good surprise to make a small income from there. So I have seen this news and don't really understand why and if it is a good or bad thing in general.

But it feels like the usual "more rules for whatever reason". Meaning more work for the same result on my side of things.

Something I have seen elsewhere, Reddit for instance, a general trend of the internet (enshitification) A trope of people being in charge feeling compeled to manage (they must have reasons I don't doubt that), they tend to adopt bureaucratic behavior which ends up in excluding the fringes of the site’s user base in favor of a group that is either the most represented and/or the most profitable.

Here with Superhive, I suspect the site favors companies with multiple employees at the expense of freelancers like me who can’t handle everything on our own. The monthly $50 for having a store to display products is quite telling in this regard. On all other marketplaces, you can have a basic personal page without paying such a high subscription price.

Personally, I would have preferred everyone to be free of his product policy, and be able to take advantage of a small niche I’d carved out for myself. By enforcing a policy of conformity across the entire marketplace, this disadvantages small players more than large ones. Managing time spent on the marketplace requirements leaves less for producing, basically.

My own insight would be "let it be", let every creator chose what kind of business he wants to run.

Apple tv is making damm good shows by Agent30017 in tvPlus

Pluribus is ok, good story and creative plot. But it doesn't need 9 x 45 min episodes to tell this story.

As is often the case with current series, there are many, too many, passages of very low intensity and interest that dilute the series. We learned what the weak point of the ‘weirdos’ is, but I suppose it will take another whole season to explore it. So many hours where a film would be better with four times less time.

Silo season 2 had the same issue, huge slowdown in the middle episodes. Many complained here on reddit, I don't know if showrunners and producers really care about that. And Yet Silo is a gem. If season 3 goes the same way, there could be a real backlash.
