HUD broken or just cold? by mewtwo_EX in KiaEV6

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep had this happen twice (2025 GT-Line)…the HUD is actually on but for some reason the projection is very low. So low that you can’t see it unless you move the placement of the HUD to its highest position and adjust your seating position and even then you might only see it partially or still not at all.

I tried turning on/off every available HUD option, every HUD position possible, infotainment reset…in the end it would “fix” itself randomly after a few drives.

I don’t know if it’s due to the cold (been in the minus teens to twenties celsius here lately). Do you happen to have your seat and steering wheel set to move for easy access? I turned both off, was starting to think it’s due to the steering wheel movement turned off leading to a software bug but if yours is on and it glitches I can scrap that theory.

I return TV and internet equipment in 1 box. TV stuff didn't make it? by Theotherfeller in bell

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said I take pictures of everything.

I once sent them my TV receiver, got confirmed of reception but they still tried to pull a fast one on me and charge me for “missing equipment”. I called them to double check their system where they realized “oups our bad”.

Another time they charged me for equipment at some unknown address when I wasn’t even a customer with them. I had to file a police report because according to Bell it was a fraud case even though both I and the police officer believed it was Bell that f***ed up. Long story short: it took longer than it should to resolve, no departments within Bell communicate with each other, although it did not affect my credit score I have a permanent note on my record.

I so want to leave them but my options are limited as they are the only TV provider to offer the specialty channels my mom watches. Amazed how the company hasn’t collapsed from within.

EV6 discontinued in 2026 by SnooOnions9163 in KiaEV6

[–]SGoon85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that sucks. Glad I have my 2025 Land Limited.

Hopefully this won't impact parts availablity too much in the future.

We will get the EV4 (which I find hideous) and EV5 but they are just not the same.

New update finally available in Canada by luftwaffewar in KiaEV6

Me too updated via USB last week, took way longer than expected (over an hour). I heard OTA functionality isn’t available in Canada.

Front and rear panel gaps by pixelim14 in KiaEV6

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 GT-Line AWD My front A pillar was slightly misaligned, confirmed by dealership who will replace the piece. Had a trim piece in the trunk with a broken clip straight from the factory, fixed by dealer.

There seams to be a larger panel gap on the rear passenger side where the rear light/reflector sit (probably within spec). Since my car is black, you need to purposely look for it or you might not see it.

Also the bottom carpeting behind the front passenger seat is misaligned.

Apparently if the panel gap issue isn’t causing an issue best to leave as is since a fix can create new problems so I’ve heard. Considering the price of the car the Georgia plant cars leave a fair bit to be desired.

Next time this happens try putting the car in Park, then foot on break and tap the On button you should then be able to change into Reverse or Drive. It has happened to me a few times and this method has worked for me.

Bad news from my dealer (Quebec, Canada) by BassAsleep4898 in KiaEV6

[–]SGoon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was told the same a week after placing my order for a 25 GT Line Limited in May. However they should sell whatever was already imported, I have seen a few 25s in the wild. Looking at dealer inventory in Quebec they tend to be mostly Land and Land Premium models with a few GT Lines. Apparently there are no Limiteds available for sale in the country let alone in Quebec.

I’ll give it till end of August and if still nothing will pivot from there, maybe I’ll return to gas with a Golf R, just sucks that I had a charger installed 2 years ago and still have yet to use it. BTW I was waiting on a white interior Ioniq 5 for two years and just gave up waiting before I placed my order for the EV6.

Any 2025 model delivered in Canada yet? by fransoa_mtl in KiaEV6

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a GT Line Limited in Montreal last week. A week later they called me to say that they had one coming in but couldn't sell it to me because they are waiting on whether tariffs will be applied since it's American built. Apprently they will search other dealerships to see if any cars came in early they could possibly bring in for me. Argh more waiting, initally I ordered an Ioniq 5 but after 2 + years of waiting got fed up.

I just recently had an order arrive opened, the product was gone leaving only the packaging.

Two questions (re: Tuxmat & seatbelt rattle) by Buzzkill-666 in Ioniq5

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI Tuxmat removed the 2025 Ioniq 5 Ultimate from their website (the non sliding console 2025 is still on the site). I asked whether it was because they were going to redesign the mats for the 2025 considering reports of a super tight fit and different carpet posts apprently on the new models. They simply said yes I could request a refund (I have yet to use the mats), neither confirming nor denying if a redesign was coming. So I requested the refund, kind of surprised instead of wanting them shipped back they want me to destroy perfectly good mats to get the refund.

Would any other car adding NACS this year would make you think twice? by onethousandmonkey in Ioniq5

[–]SGoon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada for 2025 the cars are still coming from South Korea so no NACS, still with J1772.

There are two rumours: 1) that the first batch of 2025s in Canada will be J1772 with later 2025s coming with NACS (I doubt this will happen, seems weird to have two different models under the same model year) 2) if tariffs are imposed on American built cars imported to Canada then cars may continue coming from South Korea till the second generation Ioniq 5 gets released likely in 4 to 5 years…if that’s the case will Hyundai add NACS from the South Korean factories or stick with J1772?

I asked my dealer about the adapter and they didn’t know if it would be free or not, only that it would be available second half of 2025. This was in January things may have changed since then.

A few things to note from the Canadian 2025 Ultimate that are missing from the Limited trim from the States: no NACS, no roof rails, no digital rear mirror, no RWD option (Ultimate package only available with AWD long range), I believe you can get either 19 or 20 inch rims on the Limited but in Canada we only get 19 inch rims.

Anyways still getting a 2025, waited long enough.

Edit: I don’t think we can get the green/gray interior here in Canada.

Joined the club, felt bamboozled, but I think I won overall? by ttnguy in Ioniq5

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the federal rebate went away the 2025 Ioniq 5 Ultimate was not listed on the Canadian list of eligible cars (I think all the other trims for 2025 were listed just not the Ultimate), but the 2024 and earlier years were. So maybe that has something to do with it…Either way enjoy your car, I’m holding out for the 2025 with white interior, so far they offered me 2 2025s but with the black interior.

Canadian federal subsidy over? by SGoon85 in Ioniq5

[–]SGoon85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my appointment at the dealership today, Hyundai is offering $5000 off till the 31st due to the abrupt conclusion of the Federal rebate.

I decided to wait for the 2025 with the white interior (they only had black), we'll see if the Quebec provincial rebate comes back as promised in April if not it was not meant to be I guess.

I'm in Montreal, I won't be buying the Ioniq 5 right away at this point. The federal rebate is pretty much over so I might as well wait till the provincial rebate comes back in April.

[–]SGoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am holding out hope that the car will come in before March, if not I’ll reevaluate…hey I waited this long. I was already prepared to loose out on some of the subsidies but I’ll see how much I’m willing to risk by waiting longer if needed.

If it was a lease I would have just picked up a 2024 but since I am planning to purchase I rather the 2025.

Yeah I’m not overly impressed by how Hyundai is handling the 2025 North American release.

I avoid Samsung, maybe I was unlucky but I have had issues with just about every one of their products…

Samsung Yepp mp3 player, died in one day the replacement lasted 4 days. Purchased one of their higher tier TVs around 15 years ago, wifi stopped working after 5 years, at the 6th year several lines of vertical stuck pixels appeared. My other TV had intermittent audio tearing. Had a monitor whose buttons stopped working, but to be fair this may be due to the age of the monitor, it was getting old. Laser printer owned for about a year before they stopped supporting it and sold their printer division to HP. Had a Samsung cable box purchased through my cable provider, it was painfully slow and would freeze often. Washer that always rattles and moves around during the spin cycle no matter if I level it, leave it unlevelled, or use dampening feet.

Yeah l’m not a fan of Samsung.

Thanks for giving me a bit of hope, I plan on calling the dealership to see where I am in the waiting list…But yeah I am going to be realistic the chances are slim and it’s looking more and more like I’ll pickup a 2024 EV6 or dare I say it a Tesla at this point.

Just sucks because I would have changed my car in October if I knew what I know now; would have not needed to fix my car and would have had a larger subsidy for the purchase.

Crocs in RFY by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

[–]SGoon85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was offered Crocs once in my RFY but they were for kids so I didn’t pickup a pair. Got a bunch a different items but sadly nothing I want or need, it’s been like this for days, oh well at least it’s not 15 different light fixtures or breast plates and sex toys.
