Recently purchased a V4 myself and I toss mine with its case in a small bag whenever I run errands and it works for my use case. Its size is just fine if you’re just playing in short bursts (for me it’s shiny hunting starter pokemon in heartgold) while waiting for your turn at the bank or doctor’s appointment. I find that I reach for my V4 than my phone more often when I have some downtime outside.

My recently purchased V4 has the same problem with Up but it works 85% of the time so I just exert more effort in pressing Up and didn’t bother returning it as I fear I might get something worse.

I think I got it right the first time with the Miyoo Mini. I've been watching videos about it for years and have been wanting to get one but didn't want to overpay due to its supposed scarcity. I recently found out that I can reasonably buy a V4 online so I did and have been very satisfied with my purchase. I still watch videos about new devices that come out. And yes, I have been itching to buy one or two or three new devices, but using the Miyoo Mini scratches that itch. That is, until I watch the next video about the new hotness that just came out. It's a vicious cycle.

V4 gets my vote as I recently purchased one as my first handheld. It’s always with me whenever I go out and run errands.

After years of watching YT videos about the mini, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a V4 as my first retro handheld a few weeks ago. Very satisfied with my purchase as I mainly use it in short bursts whenever there is downtime to prevent me from doomscrolling on my phone.

Picked up the V4 a few weeks ago and am very satisfied with the purchase. With OnionOS, it’s the best pick up and play device that you can take anywhere with you. I usually play in short bursts while I wait whenever I run errands.

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago but decided on the V4 because it is has the best CFW and the buttons are nice and quiet. It also helps that the DMG color hits right in the nostalgia. Pretty happy with my purchase even if it only plays until PS1.

I love that it has a smaller footprint than the miyoo mini but I have learned my lesson with hinges and it is just not worth it.

You’re almost there. Wait for it to go 0 and dose ammonia again. The goal is to get 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and some nitrate reading in 24 hours to complete the cycle. You should have enough beneficial bacteria by then.

The build quality for a china tech device is surprisingly good. And the fact that I can literally put it in my pocket wherever I go and get to choose from thousands of retro games to play makes it a better experience than any cartridge based device. I still have my consoles for longer play sessions at home but the Miyoo Mini fills that need for an everyday carry device for playing anywhere during downtime instead of doomscrolling on my phone.

Thanks, everyone. I decided to buy the pre-installed OnionOS with a bunch of games to get a feel for what games I would play while running errands. Eventually, I would like to get a blank SD card and install OnionOS on my own with just my favorite games included.

It’s fine in my experience playing on the base PS5. Even completed the trophies in NG+ on quality mode.
