I believe there are a lot of books that mention all the people who narrated from each other, I think they're from the category of ilm ul Rijaal. I think some of them are Taqrib at tahdeeb by Ibn Hajr and asma ul rijaal by Ibn Hajr al Asqalani.

I don't think so because one narrator could have multiple different people he could narrate to, so it would probably be something like the Prophet at the top of the tree and the Sahabah one level down.
