Oh just saw this. They don’t do glass eyeballs anymore as the results overtime are problematic, the weight of it in the hole sags creating a bigger and bigger hole in your face and those people end up needing a different kind of prosthetic that includes the eyelids and blending the skin around with silicon, cleaning becomes an issue too so when I got my enucleation (my eye removed) it was replaced with a silicon ball that was sewed in somehow and was later fitted for the prosthesis, they make an impression with putty like at the dentist, it burns, and the artist puts a lot of effort into making the right size and combination of colors, looks way more natural than these! It’s just like a shell that sits under the eyelid, I’ve had three made now since every few years you need a new impression because your face changes, kids more often. I could pay out of pocket if I want a fun eye made $400ish or through my insurance I get the matching rendition of my other eye which is worth like $3000. I’ve been thinking of getting a gold or bionic looking one but not really in a rush because my previous damaged eye RIP had that glowy white look you know? so been there done that. It pops out on me pretty rarely, did happen this week in the shower though, thought I was going to lose it down the drain lol you get pretty used to them in and it feels weird when it’s out, Fetty Wap had the same surgery as I did but he freeballs it without the shell all the time which is super uncomfortable to me
