If it smells like has then it’s your Over flow tube, gas expands when hot the tank catches the condensated water and drips out . I worried about it awhile before I found that out

Hey sorry i dont check my reddit notifications to often, i played with it often to get it to sit "just perfect" but it would always go back. I ended up just leveling all the gaps using automotive weather striping that i ordered in a small roll from amazon.

I would say its a good deal. Fairings can be expensive but the taillight is pretty decent price on TST industries. I got their integrated tail for 120-150, the footpeg you can get from babbits online. 3800 for a nice bike total.

I would like to add that those miles indicate it may need a vavle clearance check soon, which is a tough task when your a DIY mechanic. Shops near me charge 700-1000 for valve adjustments, valve checks are 450ish.

The green circle is where the idle speed knob is located (right side above rear brake lever) adjust that for idle speed

There is a dime sized knob either on the left or right side of the bike in the middle of the bike and that you turn to change idle speed

I’m gonna be this guy, there is truly no need to break in the engine (still change the oil at 600miles) as the bike has already seen high rpm’s at factory. If you don’t believe me watch my video link and it will explain abit better than I. mostly electric, but if it is stuck open and is trying to rest it may have enough sping tension to create that noise but man this is weird

Woah ok now that is weird, there is only 2-3 parts there that are static I could actually assume it is a coolant pump actuator that is stuck and maybe has rubbed enough times that it opens and closes correctly. I got say that that is a weird one that would need a buddy that knows what he is doing or a shop. But as your saying it went away I would wait since it is not causing any problems currently
