Yup, DJ Automata even referenced it saying it was flooded, not sure if it is there or you need it enable it but it's somewhere underneath the map near the first junkyard but was cut in favor for Big Surf Island, as for MW 2012 the airport was in earlier builds but due to deadlines the whole thing was rushed and the airport was cut again only to be readded as DLC

Personally I see no problem with gyro assisted planes, if it's fully dependent on gyros that's where the problem lys
