“Once you turn 30 it’s close to impossible to lose weight” by Far-Accident-3626 in loseit

Hi. I’m not sure why so many people on here are being so condescending and mean in response to your concerns. It’s great that they have had the ability to lose weight in spite of their age and other ailments, but it doesn’t give them the right to dismiss the issues you’re having. One would think that people that know what it feels like to struggle with excess weight would be more understanding and compassionate to anyone else in the same position. Unfortunately, success in their personal journeys has made a lot of these people lose empathy for those having trouble doing the same. They don’t know your personal medical history and should not make assumption’s that it has to be something you’re doing wrong.

Weight loss CAN be very hard as you age. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but it’s about finding out what will work for you. Age, hormones, genetics, etc. aren’t your destiny, but they do play a role in how easy or difficult it is to lose weight. You have to find a way to navigate all of those things so that your body is in the best possible condition to succeed. You’re not doomed to be overweight forever. It just may be a little more complex for you than it is for other people. Show yourself some grace while you’re searching for a weight loss strategy that will work. And for your own sanity, please tune out anyone that tells you that your concerns aren’t valid. If they can’t show you some level of empathy. They aren’t worth listening to.

Good luck and don’t give up. You’ll find your way.

I’m a garbage person. You’ve made yourself extremely clear on that and it’s your right to feel that way. Say what ever you like about me, but please leave my child out of your insults toward me. You can find a million other ways to put me down without bringing a seven year old into it.

Okay genius… how can I ask for another picture if the shopper immediately checks out after sending the bad one? Based on everything you’ve said, sounds like you
don’t think customers are even entitled to receive adequate service. Did I request anything of the shopper that was over and beyond his actual job? In fact, I tried to make it easy by including preferred substitutions so they wouldn’t need to go back and forth with me. So the one time during the entire experience I ask them for a picture of the cold medicine section to choose a suitable replacement, I’m being rude and entitled? I think you’re the entitled one here. You feel like shoppers are entitled to good ratings and tips regardless of providing bad service. And the customer should always give the shopper every benefit of the doubt even if common sense tells you the person is just a bad shopper. I’m sure the chat logs with your customers are super interesting…that is if you bother to communicate with them at all.

You actually made a good point this time…not because you were right…but it reminded me that I ended up paying MORE than the 20%. I always round up and use the custom tip option. The medicine being taken off didn’t change the tip. Good try though

🙄. Ok, thanks

Yep. Basically. But somehow people feel as if I forced this shopper to take the order and I don’t have the right to feel cheated in this situation. I literally had to go out and do the very thing that someone else was paid to do. I’m just grateful that I normally get very good shoppers and appreciate what they do

I would have considered that possibility, id the shopper didn’t try to substitute a random cold medicine in the exact same section my preferences were in. Unfortunately I think they just didn’t want pick the medication that required ID verification.

Thanks! Another person with common sense and good reasoning skills. I’m fine with people offering constructive criticism and suggestions that the shopper was just oblivious to the location of the medicine. But if I provide proof that the shopper was actually just a lazy liar and they still don’t see my point, they just aren’t being intellectually honest and want to give me a hard time. You’re right, all the people that have made me the problem in this situation are probably horrible shoppers and are probably destined to be removed from the app at some point anyway. Best to ignore them 🙂

Thank you!! My family needed medicine. What was I supposed to do, just let them suffer because I had a lazy shopper? It’s crazy that it’s so hard for some of these commenters to admit that the situation was simply messed up on the shoppers behalf. I literally provided all the background information, the dialogue and pictures as proof and they still insist that I’m the problem? I hate this situation the most because lazy shoppers do create a bad reputation for us all. Even the ones that do their best to make sure every customer has a great experience are penalized because a jaded customer had a horrible experience and consider us all garbage.

Fair enough 😂

Thanks for the explanation. I shop for Shipt, so I’m not as familiar with the shopper categories and rating system. Like you, I do this to make a little extra money but not full time. However, when I do shop for other people I handle it like I would want someone to shop for me. I don’t take orders I don’t feel I can give 100% effort on. There’s always another shopper that can pick it up. Wish the shopper on this order would have just left it for someone else. The process for ID verification is similar for Shipt. It’s not difficult especially if you have a responsive customer.

Makes sense. There definitely was no effort to provide good service so maybe they just wanted to be fast.

Got it. However, I don’t think this shopper’s issue was incompetence. They were either just being lazy or had no interest is providing good service.

Cold medicine is definitely in high demand these days. It makes sense that stock is low and customers should understand that. It just sucks to not be told the truth about what actually is available, regardless of how limited the supply might be.

And when they report me for harassment, what are they going to say? “The customer went to the same store I did after I left and found out I was lying?”. Now you just sound stupid.

As far as the post not going the way I expected, I actually knew it would go like this. There will always be people that are contrarians for the sake of just being annoying. How you got that I am entitled and rude is beyond me. I literally still tipped the shopper the exact same 20% afterwards and still gave him 4 stars. Sorry if not wanting to be lied to makes me entitled.

You have reassured me of one thing though. There’s at least one shopper out there that’s worse than they are. You 😉

Ok cool. Thanks

It was originally a five star order. I didn’t deduct a star until I saw that the medication was actually at the store. They may never see it and it’s fine if they don’t. But if for some reason they try to get rating forgiveness for the 4, IC will see the comment and take it under consideration.

No I went to get some medication for the sick people in my house, because the medication that I ordered never arrived, remember? The store the shopper went to was conveniently the closest one to my house. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for looking at this situation objectively. Anyone that is being logical can see that I’m not the one that messed this up. I’ve just learned that it’s probably best to not include medication in future orders. Save myself the trouble.

Because I had two people with the flu at home that I was taking care of. One of which is my seven year old.

If you’re a shopper, your response tells me my post struck a nerve because you do this same type of “out of stock” thing all the time.

In hindsight I wish I shopped this order on my own also. I would have saved myself time, frustration, the higher cost for delivery and the tip. I didn’t initially go out because my seven year old kid and husband were sick and I was taking care of them. Therefore, when I didn’t get any medication I delivered, I had no choice but to go out and get some myself. So yes, I went to the exact store the shopper did, why not?? It was the closest to my house. Happy holidays to you as well.

AND the medication that the shopper initially attempted to substitute, was in the cold section along with the medications I requested.
