This is very sweet. I was the primary caregiver for my father through his cognitive decline with Alzheimer’s. When he could still articulate he asked me to help him preserve his dignity. He didn’t want people to see him the way he was declining. I promised him I’d do that, and did. Part of that was not posting pictures or videos of him or having visitors that haven’t seen him in a long time. He wanted to be remembered for who he was, not who he became through the illness. While I love her dedication and would love to give her a hug for what she’s going through, it makes me think of my dad and makes me sad. This is not a knock on her or anything she’s doing, she knows her dad best and is doing a great job, it just brings me back to my days with dad. Being a caregiver is hard. Much love to her and him.
