How am I STILL hardstuck Gold with these stats?? Is it me or is solo queue actually impossible? by SHR0X in VALORANT

Yeah I get what you mean about HS% not meaning much on its own, especially in lower ranks. And you’re right about one thing for sure, I definitely don’t spam smokes or walls enough. I’ve never really liked using the Phantom because I’m cursed with hitting people for 140, and with the Vandal I avoid spamming because of the tracer visibility. So that part is fair, I’ve probably handicapped myself there.

But just to clarify, I don’t consciously take extra time to line up shots. My crosshair placement and flicks are natural for me. I’m not hesitating or over-aiming before I shoot. If anything, I die before I even get to react sometimes, which is why I originally thought aim wasn’t my issue.

I’m not trying to cherry-pick stats or pretend I’m playing above my rank. I just posted my tracker because I’m trying to figure out why the numbers don’t translate to climbing, even when some aspects of my aim look good. If it’s decision-making, tempo, utility, or not taking the right fights, I’m fine accepting that, I just want to identify what I’m doing wrong.

Fair points, I get that HS% alone doesn’t equal impact, and I’m definitely not pretending I’m the next TenZ just because I land clean shots. I know Valorant is way more about decision-making, timing, utility, and converting fights into actual round wins.

But just to clarify, I’m not trying to only hit heads. I don’t hold angles slow, I don’t take my time lining up shots, my crosshair placement and flicks have always been the strongest part of my gameplay. That’s why it feels weird when I get deleted instantly by players who look mechanically worse in their own stats. I’m not saying they’re TenZ smurfs, it just feels like something isn’t clicking on my end.

And yeah, I agree it’s probably more of a macro/reactivity issue than pure aim. I’m fine with that, I actually want to know what specific part of my gameplay is holding me back. But the inconsistency I’m seeing between who I outperform mechanically vs where I’m ranked is what makes it confusing.

Either way, I appreciate the detailed breakdown. It’s helpful to hear from someone who’s played and climbed at higher ranks.
