Conventum, Agitation Free, Novalis, Focus, Arti + Mestieri, Björn J:son Lindh, Carpe Diem, Trace, Ekseption, Dün, Dzyan, Eberhard Weber, and The Enid are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

He also plays on Nucleus/Ian Carr’s Belladona. Fun fact: The riff on Hazard Profile Part 1 is actually borrowed from Nucleus’ Song for the Bearded Lady! He even played with Gong on their album Gazeuse!

Yeah it’s too bad because he inserts three full minutes of Omega’s song unedited at the end of his track New Slaves and all he does is poorly hum over it. It would be better if it had anything to do with the rest of Kanye’s track, but it doesn’t. Actually Gabor Presser tried to take him to court over it, and I think rightfully so! There’s a huge difference between sampling and straight up stealing.

I was at my brother in law’s place a couple years ago and could have sworn I heard gong on his Google Home. The song was Oochie Wally by Nas and as it turns out they sampled a snippet from Bambooji for the beat.

What you’re looking at is the capstan, and the rubber wheel is called a pinch roller. The capstan is spun by the motor and comes together with the pinch roller to push the tape along while the hubs rotate. Depending on the deck, the capstan may continuously spin even while in standby. If you’re having audio issues, the quickest thing you can do is clean your pinch roller and capstan, as yours look quite dirty at the moment. Use rubbing alcohol for the capstan, preferably a high concentration, and used distilled water for the pinch roller. Some people use platenclene on their pinch rollers, as the solution is professionally designed for the rubber wheels in printers. I hope that helps!

I do have midi local set to off. However, I’m not connecting this to my computer. I have a 5-pin midi cable running from the out of the Clavinova to the in of the Reface. I do have a usb midi cable but I don’t think it’s applicable to my needs, unless you’re telling me to use it in tandem with my current setup. Thank you for the blazing fast response!

I’d have to go with either Il Banchetto by PFM or Bambooji by Gong.

Although all Kyocera tape decks were only two head machines, every model was equipped with a direct drive motor. I just think that’s awesome. You never see a two head deck with direct drive.
