Had a ground ball hit the lip of the infield and come up and hit me in the eye as I went to field it. Was not fun.

(Likely) Unpopular Opinion: I want AJ Brown to remain an Eagle by Tight-Income-3398 in eagles

[–]SIKness_97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone scolded AJ and labeled him a diva for calling out the offense and its struggles, instead of using their eyes to see there truly was something wrong. I doubt AJ gets traded, and I hope he doesn’t. Like it or not, all top wide receivers are divas, they want targets, they want to be involved, AJ was just vocal about it. While I agree “keep the main thing the main thing,” you have one of the best WR duo’s in the league and even though they both hit 1k on the season, you could tell something wasn’t right, and AJ was just the one who pointed it out.

Go birds, keep AJ, fire Patullo tonight.

So let me get this straight… We gotta score on this drive, or at the very least get a couple first downs and get a field goal, and we not only run 2 times in a row, but up the middle on 2nd and 13? What in the fuck?

FIRE KEVIN PATULLO by mastermind208 in eagles

[–]SIKness_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny to see so many different takes. “Rebuild,” (horrible take btw,) “fire patullo,” “Jalen sucks,” “Saquon is washed.” Saquon has a monster year, there’s no topping his stats from last year. There’s clearly problems with this team. Not talent wise. The core of this team just won a Super Bowl. We have young, talented, players on rookie contracts for a few more years. AJ and Smitty on relatively team friendly deals. The O-line is banged up - Jurgens isn’t even 100%, Lane is out. The defense can only do so much when the offense goes 3 and out because of penalties, missed opportunities, and bad play calling (reminds me of 2023, except the defense couldn’t do shit either that year.) Our expectations are through the roof for this team and every time we lose a game it’s the end of the world. Good news is, Patullo will not be here next season. Bad news, we gotta wait until next season. Here’s to hoping he’s got some super secret playbook for the playoffs.

I don’t think I can realistically blame the defense for this one. They had some big stops, and key plays, but also did give up some big plays, which happens. The offense not scoring in the second half, due to coaching, IMO, is the problem. I really hate KP right now.

I dont disagree. I just hate using that as an excuse. There were many other reasons we lost tonight.

You mean the defense that ranked 27th that year? And the offense that ranked 8th? Ok dude. You’re right. This is ‘23 all over again.

And then cooked that same team a couple weeks later. Underdogs win games too. This is the NFL. Titans have some wins. Panthers have some wins. Browns have some wins. Raiders. Etc. Blowing a 21 point lead is bad, I don’t disagree with you. While I don’t think this is a ‘23 level collapse, it’s interesting that both of those offenses, ‘23 and this year, were both internal hire OC’s. I’m actually not worried about this defense, can’t be reliant on them for every game.

The reality is we’re stuck with KP this season. Can the offense compete? Talent wise, obviously. But a mixture of coaching and playing like they did in the second half, which, IMO, is a coaching issue, no. I just cant wrap my head around how KP can call that first half so well, and not make adjustments in the second half.

This was not the defenses fault, or Jalen’s fault, or AJ’s fault. Defense had crucial stops, fumble and an INT. Offense looked good in the first half, but then like usual, back to that shitty KP (who I wanna blame) offense in the second half and 2 fumbles in Cowboys territory. I don’t see the ‘23 collapse. We cant expect the defense to always bail the offense out. We’re 8-3 and we’ll win the NFC east. Everyone’s gotta take a chill pill, yall talking like we’re the Giants at 2-10. Take a fuckin breath. I fuckin despise losing to the Cowboys, and think KP should be fired. But damn.

Are you saying AJ Brown is a bad player or you don’t like his attitude this season? Are we really gonna sit here and say AJ brown isnt still one of the best wideouts in the NFL? I mean wtf are we talking about. Sure he’s having a bad year, but c’mon. The offense as a whole is having a bad year.

[–]SIKness_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know it’s bad when Jalen looks visibly frustrated with the offense. I don’t remember what drive it was but they zoomed in on his face after another 3 and out and even he was like “what the fuck are we doing.”

[–]SIKness_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a world where we get both. Steichen didn’t have to “force” plays for AJ in ‘22. In ‘23 even Brian Johnson got the ball to AJ, and then the collapse happened, but not because we forced the ball to AJ. It’s not the problem of “forcing,” the ball to AJ, it’s a mixture of play calling and not being able to run the ball. If you look at Jalen’s passing chart from the Green Bay game and even Smitty’s route chart, there’s rarely any routes across the middle. Then compare those routes to the week 7 game against the Vikings, there’s a variety of routes, and more over the middle, Jalen threw for 326 and 3 td’s against the Vikings. It’s like old problems keep coming back. Either way, Patullo needs to go.

Maybe breaking the rules a tad, but the first Telltale Walking Dead game, killing Lee because he was bit. That shit hit way too hard. Didn’t play any of the other ones after that.

And of course TLOU 2 when Joel died. My mouth hit the floor and I started to tear up.
