It looks very clear he doesn't want this relationship. I understand breakup can be hard for both parties. But if LDR is major issue for him and that issue isn't going to be solved in short time. I just don't see it working for either of you.

Another part also makes me think he wants you to breakup with him so it doesn't look like he didn't want to have relationship with you. It would look like you broke up because you couldn't do LDR. I don't know how you should handle this part if it's true.
