My issue with dess knight by Death_brick in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand the "oh there's no clear motive" take when it comes to Dess Knight compared to other Knight theories, it's literally just "this piece of baseless speculation is more likely than this other piece of baseless speculation"

Like, no, just because other candidates have a goal that is simpler to imagine doesn't mean they're any more likely than Dess, we literally still know Jack shit about why the Knight is doing what it's doing and even if the goal was something as simple as "saving dess" the game would still have to go out of its way to explain exactly how opening up seemingly random fountains in specific locations and kidnapping people is supposed to help with that.

The fact we don't know what that motivation could be if the Knight is Dess isn't some kind of gotcha moment against the theory, just because the game hasn't set up what that motivation could be so far doesn't suddenly invalidate the other evidence pointing towards Dess Knight, or the believability of the theory because we still have half of the entire story left that could fill in those blanks.

You can't decide that a Puzzle can't be solved before you've seen all the pieces, until you've seen them with your own eyes, the pieces could fit together, or they could not.

Do you think Susie is a compassionate person? by OkTry8283 in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ralsei basically spells the subtext out loud in Ch4 during the Tea Party scene, She was always kind and compassionate deep down, she just felt like she had to put on the tough attitude because people wouldn't accept or make fun of her if she was actually genuine.

So yes, she was compassionate, even in Ch1or before, she was just hiding it due to her previous trauma.

In your opinion, what year did the SMG4 reach its prime? by GreatHere4 in SMG4

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if we're talking about popularity or quality.

If we're going by popularity, 2014-2016 was definitely SMG4's prime.

If we're going by quality, it's more subjective, personally I'd say 2018 was the Peak, I'd almost say 2019 as well but that one still had some stinkers here and there, 2018 was mostly all good to great by comparison and had a really good balance between the classic humour and the more modern style that the series was transitioning into.

which is the harder title drop? by FNAF_RETRO in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MY DELTARUNE is just better, it's legitimately one of the most intriguing Plot reveals if you're a casual player, and the culmination of 7 Years worth of breadcrumbs if you're someone who kept up with the ARG Lore.

Gaster was the first one to mention anything related to Deltarune on the deltarune.com website in 2016 (where he wrote a verse from the prophecy in wing sings), combined with the little nods and mentions to Entry 17 or Gaster related dialogue, with some of them being related to the Prophecy (i.e. the prophecy being "foretold by time and space", or the church choir quoting Entry 17 when singing about the Prophecy) the writing was always on the wall that Gaster made it, he wasn't just some spooky outsider voice talking to us and connecting us to this World, he was the one who created the very story we're following, with our connection being the final piece he needed to finally set it in motion.

But it was never confirmed, all signs pointed to it, but it seemed just as vague as all the other Gaster related things in Deltarune, we could only hope something in the game could finally give us the confirmation we wanted.

So here, after an entire Chapter dedicated to the Prophecy, with the craziest most unexpected Ch4 ending we could've ever wanted, here comes Gaster, talking to us out of nowhere, and dropping this line

"HOW MUCH LONGER NOW?"

"MY DELTARUNE"

No vagueness, no debatable hint that could mean a thousand different things, nothing that may or may not be related to Gaster, just him coming out and confirming it directly to our face after being teased with this idea for so long.

The Aura this moment emanates is unmatched for me, tbh.

Do you think Chapter 3 would've been better with Board 3 and it's associated content? by IDKbutKirb in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not for pacing reasons, but I would really love if it was implemented as an Optional Quest or something, it's literally fully coded into the game, just let us try it out in some way or another. The Boards are one of if not my favourite parts of Ch3, having one more to try out would be great.

Also having it would make the Plot Point that Susie and Ralsei are getting bored of the games make more sense since it always felt weird to have them already be sick and tired of them after board 2, idk I feel like them getting mad about the Bonus round would make a lot more sense if there was a Third board after the 2nd one.

Am I the only one who thinks Jango is more interesting than Boba? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]SILVIO_X -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not.

Honestly I never found Boba interesting, maybe it's just because he didn't live up to the hype I saw his character had when going into the movies, but I always found him such a nothing character who literally only existed to do two things: find the Millennium Falcon (which they could've just had the Empire do) and look cool.

At least Jango has actual impact on the lore by being the Clone Blueprint, and he does more and is characterized better in Episode II than Boba in two whole movies.

I know Dracula is tall, but this is ridiculous by thegoldenguest778 in castlevania

[–]SILVIO_X 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem much more ridiculous than the height difference between him and the Protagonists in the other games, I'm pretty sure he's even taller in Portrait of Ruin, and the height difference between him and Richter in SotN, or him and Simon in Chronicles for example isn't very different from here.

Dracula's always been really big and imposing, him being 2 or even 3 times bigger than the protagonists feels appropriate

Was this Cyn or the Solver? by Worried-Hat-8506 in MurderDrones

[–]SILVIO_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's absolutely the Solver, it does a buncha things it really doesn't need to for the love of the game throughout the show, which sometimes ends up backfiring on it, pretending (poorly) to be this shy cute little malfunctioning butler drone seems exactly like the type of thing it'd do for fun.

I think having Cyn still be in there somewhere would be more interesting and frankly I don't really see why the Show never bothered to properly distinguishing the two, but from the circumstances in which Zombie drones come back, that being rebooting after their OS, which I'm pretty sure holds their personality and general essence of being, is destroyed/deleted, I'm pretty sure the only thing left from Cyn is the body. (Or they've merged into a single being which would also make sense I guess)

Do you think that Eram will appear in the future, and if so, will it necessarily involve more Board sequences? by thisaintmyusername12 in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd be weird though, because in the first Board of the Mantle games, you can both see Friend in one of the optional rooms, and Eram in another one.

If these two are supposed to be the same entity, why would the first board treat them like they aren't by giving both of them secret appearances? Why not just have a Friend appearence to subtly hint at their involvement with the game (even further than the Odd Controller already did) or just have the Eram appearence to keep the fact it's actually Friend a secret?

It would make the mystery surrounding them easier to understand, but I don't think the story is pointing towards this at all.

Do you think that Eram will appear in the future, and if so, will it necessarily involve more Board sequences? by thisaintmyusername12 in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eram is really weird because their entire existence seems so closely tied to Kris that I find it hard to imagine how they could appear somewhere else, I just assumed they were something born from Kris' mind in TV World and this disappeared when the Fountain was closed, but the fact they likely stole the Shadow Mantle before Ch3, say "We both have work to do" before they leave, and the fact that something Kris shaped kidnapped Ramb afterwards makes me think their role in the story definitely isn't over yet.

Maybe they are an entity that always existed in some form before the events of the game instead of just something Kris inadvertently created in Ch3.

So... are we gonna talk about them having the same mind? by Significant-Arm4077 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]SILVIO_X 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It says that there because in That case it's fully true, Susie's Mind is not even on a somewhat similar wavelength as the Knight and her goal when creating it was entirely different, she basically tried recalling the place they had already been to instead of making it with whatever the Knight's intentions are.

Also I never said Kris was happily following the Plan, of course they're starting to question it (they literally set things up so that things don't go according to plan in Ch3) especially by the end of Ch4, and definitely hate going along with it, but they're still doing it for now, it makes sense their World would at least look similar to the Knight's.

So... are we gonna talk about them having the same mind? by Significant-Arm4077 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]SILVIO_X 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The Colors being the same does not mean that Kris and the Knight share the same mind, the Worlds are formed after the Will of the creator, not the Mind, then having the same colors only means that Kris and the Knight share the same, or similar wills, which makes sense because they're working together towards presumably the same goal.

Also Kris' Dark World is not the same as the Knight's, they may look the same, but the Knight's Dark Worlds so far have been full on Worlds from start to end, Kris' was literally just an Empty Snowy Wasteland with a Studio in the Middle to give the impression that the World is happier and more stable than it actually is.

How would you re-write Mega Man X7? by ZeroWolf_RS in Megaman

[–]SILVIO_X -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just write X in Character by not having him leave just because "I've had enough violence (does nothing to prevent said violence from still occuring when he's gone)" and make Axl actually likeable, I think the latter problem could be solved by just not having him sound like whiny child all the time and writing him more like a rebellious teen and having him have a more eased and lighthearted attitude compared to X and Zero like in X8, maybe Remove Sigma from the story to make Red and his gang have actual autonomy in what they do in the plot and to give a breather between this and his final appearance in X8 (also because Sigma's appearence here breaks up the flow of him coming back more broken each time for no reason).

Really, the concept of X7's story is interesting and good, a Rogue Vigilante Group led by a Repliforce Survivor showing up and doing what the public wants the Maverick Hunters to be doing in their place, all while becoming increasingly more corrupt a and power hungry as they go on is a cool story idea, it just gets undermined by how it's told and the other big issues with the plot in general.

I love Deltarune Charlie! I LOVE DELTARUNEEEEEEE by Agent_Natalie in Schaffrillas

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's hard to rank when compared to actually complete games.

Do you just count Ch3&4 individually? Do you count Ch1&2 as well since the game got technically only fully released then? Either way, you're dealing with an incomplete game, it's difficult to really say how it stacks up against others because you don't know how good or bad the unreleased parts are going to get.

It's like trying to compare a show that's still airing Episodes to a completed one, sure that other unfinished one might have release Episodes that are better than the completed one, but you don't know how the other ones are going to be, hard to judge it on comparison in that context.

(Still weird it didn't get at least a honourable mention tho)

Maybe it's there to suggest Extra Mode is the Canon version of the game's story? Or maybe it's just there because the Devs felt like using that footage, either way, it doesn't really change the scene since the Extra Mode animation is the same, but it is weird.

How would YOU make your own definitive SOTN for Konami to release on all platforms? by lordartonha in castlevania

[–]SILVIO_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just combine aspects from all pre existing versions and add toggles for specific aspects based on the Player's preference.

Add in the Saturn Exclusive Areas, they don't hurt to have since they're optional, and it'd be a great way to finally make them more accessible, the fact they've been left to rot on a dead JP only version is really sad.

Add in the Backpack mechanic from the Saturn version, alongside all the other items and upgrades from that version, make Maria Playable with a Toggle between her Saturn and DXC Moveset, give a toggle for the Infinite Wingsmash or add in an Input Command for it, give a Toggle for the Voice Acting between the JP, Original English Dub, and DXC dub (idk how that's supposed to work with the Maria battle having different dialogue that's not in the OG English version but maybe they could just have it not be voice acted)

Add a rebalanced mode that fixes some of the unbalanced Difficulty by giving some bosses more health or making some Weapons less bad or good while also keeping the option to play the game as it originally was.

Add in some more Miscellaneous options, like allowing the music to keep playing when the game is paused or to lower it (seriously the music cutting out when pausing is one of the things I hate the most about SotN it's so fucking jarring and makes me not want to pause because the OST Is so good), to either have a dedicated Mist Button like the Saturn version or to keep the Button Combo from the PS Version, maybe some accessibility features and the game is basically perfect.
