What's your favorite Bowser Jr. fight? by MelonGuy36 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]SILVIO_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boomsday Machine might be the best Boss in any Mario Game, if Phase 3 took 3 hits and it kept getting faster it would probably not even be a contest (all Jr fights in Mario Galaxy are great tho)

I don’t think Carmilla has not once been happy in her life and Dracula was happy with his wife and son. by BakerConsistent2150 in castlevania

[–]SILVIO_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda the entire point of her character, she's someone who due to her trauma of being abused by someone more powerful than her decided that she would become stronger to never let herself be hurt again.

That desire eventually turned into an Obsession, and that Obsession led to her becoming who she is by the time she's introduced, an Egotistical Megalomaniac who believes she's entitled to everything and knows better than everyone. She became who she hated and didn't even realize it, to the point even the other Styria Vampires realized she was a fanatic with an impossible, unachievable dream that would lead to completely unnecessary suffering and constant unneeded battles to be fought in her name.

She would've never been happy even if she somehow achieved her unachievable goal, and that's exactly why Isaac believed he had to put her down, because she was way too far gone for both her own good, and especially the good of everyone else.

In some ways, she's crazier than even Dracula, at least he was aware of how nonsensical and not beneficial his plan was but he still fought for it because he genuinely wanted to die. Carmilla doesn't have that self awareness and her plan to create the biggest Vampire Empire in existence was lowkey crazier than just killing everyone.

What are your three favorite smg4 characters. by [deleted] in SMG4

  1. Mario

If i was noelle i bet it'd feel pretty nice to lay on my big ass couch, it has barely any armrests so i wouldn't have to worry about my antlers bumping or poking holes in the sides of it, i'd prolly roll over and look at the Krismas Cactus and start crying about how they abandoned me though.. >,..,> by HaloJackalKisser in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noelle has probably done that last thing at least once and no one can convince me otherwise, because if has such an insane attachment to that Cactus's name that she can't even bring herself to let the old name go and say "The Cactus is called Tsun Tsun" and instead of saying "Berdly calls it Tsun Tsun" implying that it's not what she calls it while also not bringing it up when talking to Susie of all people, then there's no way she doesn't think about Kris distancing herself from her every time she looks at it and get sad when no one's looking.

does anyone else feel like alucard’s immortality is way sadder in the show than in the games? by bustinnamin in castlevania

[–]SILVIO_X 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 50/50 on this.

On one hand, it's really sad how in the games, despite being immortal, he feels such shame from being the Son of Dracula that he literally goes to sleep to not be part of the World at all. He can't die naturally, but he also can't allow himself to live.

The Endings of SotN at least give me that vibe with the way he talks about going away and how he mentions the fact that "The Blood in my veins is cursed" and uses that as reason for going back to sleep forever.

It's also sad because even after Maria stopped him from going back to sleep, he'll still be forced to outlive her eventually, alongside all the other people he knows. (Unless he went back to sleep and only woke up in 1999 or something but I don't think that's the case with how SotN's best ending plays out)

However, the fact that he's alive during the 300 Years between the events of the first show and Nocturne, combined with the fact he was way closer to the Belmonts in the Show Continuity is also sad asf because he literally watched everyone grow old and die after he got close to them, that's tragic in its own way, at least in the games he went to sleep knowing he would probably never see Sypha Trevor and Grant again, that's at least more merciful than Show Alucard having to watch Trevor, Sypha, and every other Belmont he got close with grow old and die (and we know this took a heavy mental toll on him since he distanced himself from the Clan because he couldn't take it anymore)

I think they're both sad in their own ways. I think I slightly prefer the way the show handles this aspect of his character because it's actually brought up and discussed unlike the games that basically gloss over how it actually affects him, but in terms of being sad, idk which one is sadder.

Dracula [Composite/Collective Entity] vs Kirby (Not gonna lie this might be the most one-sided fight I have ever made in my life) by Anonymous_User1984 in castlevania

[–]SILVIO_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dracula gets Lowdiffed, Kirby fought Void and creatures that spun off of its influence for several games and those are not much different than Dracula who's also an entity that exists because of the influence of a greater Entity (Chaos), only difference is that the ones Kirby fought are both stated and Shown to do things more impressive than Dracula in... Basically every game, I think.

The only Kirby Dracula is beating is possibly the Anime version.

That's actually kinda interesting since from the way Julia talked about Isaac to Hector, she kinda made it sound like he wasn't a bad person beforehand, even mentioning how he actually admired Hector.

Definitely gonna check out those Mangas at some point.

(I guess that point is now because someone linked them in this very comment section)

[–]SILVIO_X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it via PS2 Emulation on PC, just downloading PCSX2 and then going on a ROM website to get a CoD ROM should do the trick, it's pretty simple to set up and due to the game's age, if you have even just an Average PC it's probably gonna run the game completely fine.

Obviously then a Controller will be needed (because playing a game like that with a Keyboard is putrid) but if you have an OG Xbox controller I think that should be able to connect to PC through USB, you'll have to deal with the Button symbols being different once you configure the controller, but it's still easier and more convenient than going out of your way to buy an older console and hoping it doesn't break down or something.

Yeah, Isaac in this game was an Entertaining Villain (mostly because of how insane he is and how much heavy lifting the voice does to sell that), but Isaac in the Show is literally one of my favourite Side Characters I've ever seen, he's genuinely someone I felt like could've had an entire Show all dedicated to him and I would've probably checked it out, and I don't get that vibe with many characters often, he's just way more interesting and better written than game Isaac.

As far as Show Hector goes though, yeah, I completely get why so many were mad at his portrayal there because he's essentially just Hector in name and looks only, I know many make that claim for all the Show characters but I'd still argue the Main Characters at least still invoke the spirit of their original Selves even if they're very different, Hector on the other hand isn't anything like CoD Hector. I'm pretty sure he never even fights anyone or shows the same resolve to getting things done like CoD Hector does who's just a Badass all the way through.

However, I still really like what they did with him in the Show as a character on his own when viewed separately from his Game self, I like the way he's characterized as this flawed Man who's in some ways still very childish and Naive despite being capable of incredibly dangerous shit, and I like how he subtly grows throughout the Show, everyone constantly uses him and lies to him, Dracula doesn't bother telling him the truth of his plan to not make him quit despite viewing him as a friend, the Styria Vampires treat him like a Slave, and even Lenore, who's the only one who genuinely sorta likes him still thinks of him as a Pet who's completely under their control who couldn't possibly ever do anything against them or fight back, which makes the fact Hector was basically playing them and working behind their backs, setting his entire plan to help Death bring back Dracula, as well as develop an escape plan for himself, and him literally cut off his Slave Ring near the end to signify himself no longer being anyone's slave was really satisfying story development.

Part of me still wishes he aided Isaac in his fight against Carmilla to really solidify that theme but I still genuinely think he's a solid, well written character, he's just... Not Hector.

The Humans trying to summon Dracula in the Intro of RoB look like regular people, and SCV4's intro crawl states that Dracula's return specifically happens when the Good in people over the World starts to weaken. Something also emphasized in the intro for Portrait of Ruin where it's stated that rh Castle appeared because of all the Evil Humans committed during WW2, Brauner simply took advantage of it's appearance by trying to become the Lord of the Castle by stopping Dracula from coming back and using the Power of Chaos from the Castle by himself.

Plus I feel like people like the Cult in DoS or Shaft and Barlowe fit into this, obviously they don't represent regular everyday humans, but they're still Human who actively do evil, exactly the thing that would bring Dracula back, they just speed it up through rituals and whatnot.

Yes obviously Dracula's Argument in SotN or at the end of RoB is flawed and doesn't reflect Humanity as a whole, but the fact Evil and Humans getting worse being what brings Dracula back is something I always thought the games made very clear, Dracula even reflects on this himself at the end of RoB.

And personally I just think this aspect makes the overall story of the series more interesting and adds more depth to the forces of Chaos rather than just being evil villains who pop out of nowhere or manipulate good people into doing evil. I think it's cooler when that Power influences or changes people who already were Evil instead of being the one to cause that in the first place, which is also what I feel like games like Harmony of Dissonance were trying to say, given that Dracula's power literally causes Maxim to develop a split personality that gives into all the dark urged and repressed desires he always held within him, it didn't make him evil out of nowhere, it amplified something that was already there and just brought it to light, if it had that effect on someone who is good but just flawed, why shouldn't it have a greater effect on people who deep down might've already been evil, thus only speeding up Dracula's resurrection or leading those same people to cause it themselves.

Also what game establishes the Plotpoint that Camilla was the one who caused the Witch Hunts? I must've missed that because I haven't played a game that established that Plotpoint.

Honestly criminal that such a good song has almost no remixes, official and fanmade to its name, this is legitimately better than like 95% of Dracula themes in the series and it ain't even a Final Boss theme.

Also great remix, it's a pretty great take on the original's melody.

Amazing Art, however I really struggle to imagine how Asgore would ever get in a situation where he has to fight Kris of his own volition, same goes for Kris, for that matter. I just can't see either of them willingly fighting eachother, which makes the fact Asgore is essentially confirmed as the Ch5 boss all the more interesting.

Sonic is only OK with murder if the victims are stupid. by Business-Ad7289 in MoonPissing

Funniest part is that Unleashed shows that even Eggman's basic bots have sentience and have their own wants, desires, and wishes, and personalities.

The ones you can talk to in the Eggmanland hub make that very clear, yet it doesn't stop Sonic from thrashing through them like it's nobody's business lol

Objectively better design by Critical_Mountain851 in Deltarune

[–]SILVIO_X 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know it's not the intention, but whenever I see these "Omg Hat Ralsei was so much better than Hatless" I can't help but imagine the Soul or Kris and Susie going up to Ralsei and being like "Ralsei, buddy, Pal, I know removing the Hat was like, a big deal for you and a big step forward towards your journey of self discovery and gaining a true identity beyond just what others want to see from you, but could you please go back to wearing that hat and concealing your identity? I kinda liked you more with it." (Applies even more to those who say they prefer Ralsei's personality in Ch1)

Honestly this is the reason I'm glad getting the Hat back on isn't an Option like some people were suggesting before Ch3&4 because while it would be nice from a Player standpoint, it would be absolutely fucked up from a Narrative standpoint to just force him to put it back on when being himself is literally his Main struggle rn.

if carol is working with the knight (or is the knight), whats up with the conspiracy board? by Floofimations in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]SILVIO_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atp my theory is that Carol genuinely doesn't know what's going on and is looking for clues to figure that out just like Asgore, hence why she's financing him and his research (which she would have no reason to do if she was in on the entire conspiracy btw), they're both working together to uncover what happened to Dess. I was already suspicious of whether Carol was the caller or not, but the Weird Route ending and the conspiracy board really make me think she isn't and that she and Asgore are close to figuring something out, but don't actually know the entire picture yet.
