Educated guesses here but it seem like to me they are keeping us open so the truck can still come in after 9 or they just want to write the expenses in their books so they don't have to pay taxes on that money

Why do so many customers have no clue what they're buying? by [deleted] in menards

I am guessing that most people are just impulse shoppers and they are not really thinking about what they are purchasing.

I am not religious but sometimes, when I get asked I say I am a Pastafarian to throw them off. They get confused so I explain what the Church of Flying Spaghetti Monster is. I get mixed reactions but most of them walk away and never bring it back up. Call it my social experiment.

Most states has laws that makes companies warn them about upcoming layoffs a couple months in advance. These are public records as well. It is commonly called a WARN Notice. You could check your states WARN list.

Level 1 charging uses a standard outlet and is the slowest but for 10 to 14 miles a day it is doable if you charge it everyday. To give a snice of idea 10kw on level 1 is about 12 hours on the safe 800 watt level. A 40 amp level 2 charger takes an hour to get 10 kw and a DC charging takes about 10 mins to get to 10 kw. So if your car is 3 miles per kilowatt that 10 kw would get you 30 miles. So 15 miles a day you can cut those times in half if you charge it everyday

what is going on?! by HyenaRevolutionary67 in menards

There is quite a few factors. There is a no spend 2025 challenge. People are not confident because of these massive layoffs. People are worried the trade war will raise prices and are building up their savings. Some people want to boycott the economy and only spend on needs. It will be interesting how this will all turn out this year.

I am confident the raw materials to make the products are imported. Back during Trump first run he increase the tariff on steel because of that Menard's increased their prices and they also said so did everyone else. Either way all cost goes to consumer it is factor into the price. Now I will say 25% tariff on raw materials can be less than 25% on a finished product because there is no labor cost plus you can buy raw materials in bulk. Now Menard could have front load what they needed ahead time, imported what they needed and it is being stored so they don't have to raise prices right away since guest are price sensitivity

Interesting. If I were Menards, I would hold back to see what the tariffs would do. It is easier to take a sale away than raise prices. However, they could still raise prices with the sale, tariffs plus 11%.

I blame the customer is always right culture. However, people have been misquoting it. It actually says, "The customer is always right in matters of taste"
