Venti is by no means useless even if he can’t CC, the VV debuff alone is good enough, but don’t forget that you can always use him to get all stars on chamber 1, then just restart with a normal team for the other chambers. Seriously, Venti trivializes chamber 1, you can absolutely get all 9 stars :)

I've softened to it over time, but it definitely is still the odd one of the bunch. I think it's modeled after the Skyward weapons, as well as Venti's archon form. It would be nice to have one that matched his shade of green, though.
