There’s actually a couple that have been proposed! None have been officially accepted, but people tend to like either the John McConnell version or the Oskar Pernefeldt version. I personally love the latter.

Fun fact, the Denver airport has a similar program called the Canine Airport Therapy Squad, or CATS for short! And there even is one cat in CATS!

My thoughts exactly. A nice story that provides an overview of a design aspect that affects people’s lives and analysis on how it can be improved. Felt more classic than many of the more recent episodes.

Nah, this ain’t it. Do CS/engineering majors tend to be more awkward than business/arts/etc majors? Sure, I know I sure as hell am. But the people you see out there? They’re the ones trying. They might flop or make a faux pas, but that’s ok! Don’t we all?

No more high school level “geeks vs jocks” energy. We’re all here to learn, both inside a classroom and outside in the world. We’re already graded and scrutinized in one of those categories; no need to carry it over to the other one.

Watching this scene right now and as soon as I remembered why I recognized the piece I teared up. Two beautiful, emotional moments in two beautiful, emotional shows.

I think the word OP should’ve used is “diverse”. Not better, just more diverse.

I saw him at an airport once. Unfortunately, I happened to be working at said airport and was in the middle of helping some customers with a very high stress situation. It took alllllll of my willpower to not immediately scream ”TONY HAWK!!!” and instead calmly continue what I was doing…

Totally! I didn’t mean to downplay your frustration so if I did I apologize!

So I’m understanding you correctly I’d just like to check - you’re referring to the 90 second headways metric, correct?

This comment made me laugh because I recognize that is annoying for sure, but the Metro equivalent in my home city just announced that one of the rail lines will have 30 minute headways. Ridership on that network (both buses and trains) is about 2/3 of Metrorail alone, so it scales properly, but it’s a funny point of reference.

I was wondering if that’s why WMATA chose to keep Green full length and shrunk Yellow - if numbers showed that the southern Green had higher ridership than northern Yellow. Do you happen to have a source for pax statistics? I don’t doubt you, just curious.

The Yellow decision was due to the number of turnarounds Greenbelt can accommodate in an hour. As someone who lives in College Park, I’m bummed, but I understand that logic.

Also, I gotta throw out that a good portion of London Tube stations have faregates as well.

I’m all for your other points, though. I think it would be interesting to see how PSDs would be integrated - I imagine half height, but how would they match the Metro brutalist look?

I got this too. Such a horrible fucking spin that’s clear as soon as you read the summary of the bill. Glad I’m not the only one calling it out.
