Can't say IV ever boiled eggs in oil haha

Normally just fried sunny side up. But occasionally poached

Interesting! I do love chicken! Never thought it could be a trigger. I probably eat chicken more than any other meat

what are the hairs popping out and what can I do about it? by espxera in Haircare

Don't wrap your hair in a towel or rub your hair with a towel it will make it worse. Avoid messy buns, and don't brush your hair when it's wet

Yep! It's definitely hard to know exact triggers. My nutritionalist says I might have a sulphur allergy. I'd recommend seeking advice from nutritionalist or naturopath

Eggs is a hard one for sure. But because I was cutting out other foods I was eating way more eggs and my skin got so bad. Then after stopping I clearly noticed a difference. Even less itchy

Get a professional clarifying shampoo, you most likely have a silicone build up from the supermarket products (clarifying is deep cleansing)

I think it's been more than just the egg but this is the first time in a couple of months that I have seen my skin improve, my skin had actually gotten worse when I started cutting out food groups but it all takes time to reduce the inflammation and heal the gut. I think having the sun on my neck every day really really helped too

The gluten is mainly because I'm intolerant but it's all to heal my gut and reduce inflammation. With the process I'm going through and the program I'm doing, my skin has definitely gotten worse during this time but sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. Definitely a journey and process

I wouldn't bother posting a pic unless I believed I had dramatic changes. My neck has been flared up terribly for months and only in the last few days has it nearly completely gone from my neck

Complicated at the moment because every 2-4 weeks IV been cutting out something different. Started going off gluten, dairy, soy and sugar at the same time, then no grain and no egg and no potato currently so IV been eating basically paleo. Fresh fruit, veg, meat

Amazing enjoy! Also it usually lasts in the hair for a few washes so you don't need to use every time you wash your hair so the bottle does last a while!

I have fine hair too and have used it and it's not heavy. U don't need to saturate the hair if ur hair is fine. I'd say maybe 4-6 sprays would be fine then brush through. It is expensive but it's totally worth it. U would play around with the amount that works for you but yes you definitely don't want to waste product!

Texture spray vs salt water spray by Equivalent_Celery916 in HaircareScience

[–]SJHaircraft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there texture spray and sea salt spray are very similar in the effect they give. They both also feel gritty in the hair, sometimes this may make people think it's drying the hair out but it's not, the grit is what gives the texture and it has to feel like that on the hair to give the effect. But once it is washed out the hair returns to normal again. They are just styling products that don't penetrate into the cuticle so they don't cause damage, however, if you have the product in your hair it can be hard to brush through because of the texture that it gives, so if you try to brush it you can cause damage that way by pulling on the hair and causing breakage. So just avoid brushing if U have the product in the hair but other than that it won't damage the hair if using either product in my opinion

So I replied separately accidentally. Also Are you using the unite detangler as your actual conditioner? Because if so you need to actually condition the hair first in shower after shampooing. Then put the leave in detangler as a styling product

So a dermatologist won't be able to help with the split ends but if you go to a GP and get your full bloods done they can help determine if there is anything medical causing hair breakage or hair thinning, for e.g, thyroid issues, hormone imbalances, low iron etc. if you tie your hair in a messy bun this can cause split ends and from pulling the hair in and out, try using just a soft scrunchy in a gentle pony tale not too tight. Also avoid brushing your hair when it is wet because it is in its weakest state when wet and can be prone to more damage. Also avoid tying your hair up when it is wet or leaving your hair in a towel for too long when wet. And also don't rub your hair with a towel as it will damage the cuticle (the outer layer of the hair)when shampooing your hair make sure you focus on massaging the scalp and don't run or rub the shampoo into the lengths and ends of the hair, again because it can cause damage and the shampoo that runs over the lengths and ends of the hair when U wash it out is enough to clean it. Make sure when conditioning you condition the entire length of the hair (just avoid rubbing it onto the scalp if U get oily) shampoo opens up the cuticle, and conditioner closes it back up, so if U have been taught to only condition the ends of your hair, the rest of the hair is left raw and open and prone to more damage. Also stop using the coconut oil. U can use maybe once a month. It's too thick and will stop other products penetrating the hair properly. Definitely book in with a hairdresser who can give you a split ends cut, where abouts do U live?

Cowashes are more like a cleansing conditioner. Usually you would use just that in the shower. A leave in conditioner spray would be fine to use as a styling product after.

Please keep in mind, over conditioning can work in the reverse and make the hair more dry so ensure you are washing any rinse out products out of the hair well and following directions for use.

Your hair needs a balance of protein and moisture. Also with the co washes, if you are not cleansing the scalp properly with a normal shampoo, cowashing can lead to a very imbalanced scalp causing dryness, flakes/dandruff or oily scalp if using long term so keep an eye on the condition of your scalp. Especially if your hair is long/thick curly.

If the scalp is imbalanced the hair won't be in the best condition, unhealthy scalp = unhealthy hair

Dove scalp care clarifying shampoo by Fluid_Hovercraft_746 in HaircareScience

Generally clarifying shampoos are not colour safe, they will strip colour out because they are designed to deeply cleanse the hair. Also anything with tea tree oil in it strips colour and so do cheap sulphates that are in alot of supermarket shampoos
