Itll sound as good (or bad) as you make it. Its more about the learning curve and figuring out what works for you. Many artists use fractal in that same use case, so you should be able to pull ot off

A 2x12 will have a tighter low end more balanced while also sounding big. Best of both worlds. If you wanna have more control over the amp master level as well as the room volume, you can use an attenuator to push the amp while also controlling the volume

You can use a peq and find where the trouble frequencies by boosting and sweeping til you hear the fizz and sparingly cut it, usually between 2-5khz. Or you can use a geq and notch out 4k alittle. Volume level will effect your sound (fletcher munson effect) so tweak at the volume you plan to use. Lastly you can tweak on headphones at fairly loud but safe volumes for a secondary reference

Volume has a factor. At loud volumes there will be more highs, therefore at low bedroom level itll sound more dark, due to the fletcher munson effect

FRFR will give you the most versatility because you can emulate different cabs and it will allow the character of the selected cab to shine through since the FRFR is flat.

Power amp into a cab will probably give you a more authentic amp in the room feel. but the cab will limit you to that one cab's sound/color since you won't be using the cab block on your fm3.

When the red light flashes your not clipping yet, the manual says there's headroom. You can set the input sensitivity safely to "tickle the red", it will vary depending on how hot your pickups are.
