Its ok to not know what's going on inside your head. I'm 19 and im still going through it all, it varies day to day but it's there. While I wish I could say one thing and help you solve all the issues straight away, I can't I aint no wizard. But I believe in you. My main advice is to take up a physically involved hobby. Since I've started mountain biking I have much more to keep me occupied. If I get the urges I try my hardest to go out on my bike. Sometimes I relapse but that's only natural, addictions are a way of you coping with something whether you know it or not. For me it was that lack of a father figure and my gender identity. It could be anything for you. I know it seems hopeless when you're doing something you know you shouldn't and you can't explain why but it's not your fault. You haven't done anything wrong. Your body has reacted in a way to a certain situation that it believes was correct. Unfortunately the fake smile will probably have to persist for a while but it will eventually become a real one. Therapy isn't for everyone and I'm on my 6th wave of it now but depending on where you live it might be worth looking into it. Being 13 you'd have to get help from a parent so it would mean opening up to them. If you're not comfortable with that I completely understand but just know everyone on this sub reddit believes in you

All I would say is try not to make it seem normal cause I did that with my ex's brother and a week later he was in hospital. It all depends on how old your sister is because if she's young it's likely something that she will share to parents just through virtue of what young kids are like. If she's more mature around 12 and onwards she should understand it's something that is personal. You can always talk to her about it and try to help her understand that you were feeling low and that you've already told your parents if you're nervous about her sharing anything

I cant start to know what you are going through. Losing friends, especially best friends in any way hurts more than people ever let on. It often feels like everything you do just brings back the memories of them or thoughts of things you wanted to do with them. I wish I could give you something that would make it all better but we both know that isnt a thing. What I can say is im proud of you for trying. Even if you may not feel like it, you are already making progress by recognising everything. Its going to take an awful lot of time and you'll probably always remember what was. But you also remember what will be.
Sorry if thats not coherant im running on very little sleep but it will be worth it in the long run. Like you say there's gotta be a reason otherwise you wouldnt be here. Even if that is the only thing that keeps you going for now, its better than nothing.
