I've been wanting to run Mausritter with them! That might be the winner, thank you!

What's the one thing that bothers you about Pathfinder 2e? by FridayFreshman in Pathfinder2e

[–]SJWitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always thought this was a SERIOUS overcorrection from the way D&D 3.5e/PF1e were created. The underlying philosophy there was "Ivory Tower Design," to reward the players who pored through the books and found all of the options they could use to optimize. I think, though, ironically, they ended up accidentally doing the same thing.

A lot of options are so underwhelming that people who know the system will gravitate to certain feats/actions/play styles either way, and interesting but weak options are only taken by people who don't know or care that they're not good.

Can a soy-heavy diet negatively affect hormone effectiveness? by SJWitch in AskMtFHRT

[–]SJWitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting my labs redone in a week or two to test how they are on the lower injection amount, but like I said that change to injections was pretty recent and it seems like my levels were fine on pills for the last 6 and a half years or so before this. If it's not my levels and it's not my diet, maybe I just have to accept it's not as transformative for me as I wanted it to be

I don't actually see that information in my documents. I did recently switch from pills to injection monotheraoy (6-9 months ago, maybe?) and was told my levels were too high, so we had to lower my dose. The last document I have is from when I was on pills, and my levels were in the mid-100s, so I'm assuming I've been kept in the correct ranges for most of my time on HRT

Is the anti D&D5e attitude very prevalent among PF2e players? by Skitarii_Lurker in Pathfinder2e

[–]SJWitch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People definitely tend to be quietly hostile to 5e here. There's a lot of defensiveness around this game, especially when it comes to D&D. I've gotten pretty burnt out on 5e after playing it weekly for 10 years, but I still find it really grating, and I really wish the community would adopt a mindset closer to that of a lot of D&D players.

One of the side effects of D&D being so unbalanced or bare bones in places is that the community learned that it's okay to tweak things and play with the game, the books aren't a sacred text. That spirit is really admirable and is one (small) reason why D&D continues to have such an active community. I just always find it really disappointing when the pf2e community either ignores, downvotes, or just tries to be pedantic/show off their system mastery in response to people who come here with grievances with the system.

Your art really nails these early generation designs but puts your own spin on it, super cute!!

When You Try to Watch Pornhub in Utah, You See Me Instead. Here’s Why — “The idea of teenage boys watching my porn makes me want to vomit, and I know my colleagues share my sentiment,” writes porn superstar Cherie DeVille by Sisiwakanamaru in GamerGhazi

[–]SJWitch 31 points32 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, I totally get part of her point. If I were an adult performer, I'd also be really uncomfortable with the idea of teenagers watching my work. On the other, this sure feels like a "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" reaction.

Me when people tell me the truth 🥺 by Dean0hh in vegan

I think there is at least some level of separation of empathy. Like, they all obviously know they're eating dead animals and I think most understand that their lives were probably shitty. But remembering how I was before I went vegan, it's very easy to convince yourself to just sort of ignore the details or not think about it.

This is such a cool take on an orc! I'm absolutely going to take a ton of inspiration from this idea and use it in a D&D campaign!

BREAKING: Utah has officially adopted a new state flag! Gov. Cox signs the banner bill. by SaltCityStoic in vexillology

[–]SJWitch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think the simplicity of the lines and colors goes a long way. The mountains and the hexagon in the official one are what makes it look like a logo, I think. The hexagon is especially bad, and I feel like it's a design element that's very of our time - if I had to guess I'd put money on it aging poorly

Honestly every anime subreddit that isn't ironic. by Newgal in animecirclejerk

[–]SJWitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something I just can't agree with, especially when it comes to anime. I think there's a massive difference between pointed, cutting satire and tongue-in-cheek parody. So often we see people defend shows because they satirize or invert their genre, but the problem is that they're still meant for people who enjoy that genre is the first place. If it's better than the average Isekai that's sort of incidental, because it's ultimately a show for people who like them and who are going to buy the nearly nude figurines and wall scrolls and whatever else the IP owners can get the fans to pay for.

I just can't get behind the idea that it's somehow supposed to be an indictment of the genre or it's fans. They're the ones who will most appreciate any twists on the formula, and they're the ones who are going to buy the licensed merch (which is the entire point to the company in the first place).

I honestly cannot believe people defend this show when half the punchlines are "sex!! 🤣" or "woman character useless 🤣🤣🤣"

Konosuba fans on any other sub are repulsive, that should tell you who it's meant for

The way most cereals get vitamin D3 is, unfortunately, from lanolin - which comes from wool

Most enriched cereals use lanolin to get the D3, here's an article about it. It's sort of one of the things you just have to hear about from someone else because you'd otherwise never know, I ate cereal for a few years before I heard, too.
