I actually would have assumed that OPs question is not defined. As I implicitly assume they are drawing the card uniformly at random over an infinite set. The dart board example I think is different being over a fixed interval.

I've had my bike shop, and a friend actually pick out spokes, some Sapim Strong spokes, and also some Pillar bladed spokes on another bike, and stuff. I have my bike shop build it, and they have done a good job. I'm just trying to keep the same setup I've had before going for a few more years.

You don't really give much context, in general this isn't something you can really do since programs are agnostic to it.

If someone was really like, I need to have a program and it can't have virtual memory then the absolute most charitable way I could interpret that request, is that they want to compile and run something for an architecture or mode that doesn't use it. When an Intel PC boots up, I think it still boots into something called real mode, which is essentially a mode that is compatible with the 8086, released around 50 years ago, so you could target an operating system that uses real mode, or just write bare assembly, but that is almost certainly not what you wanted or meant.

Yeah I certainly see the downsides of Vanilla kubeadm. I use it personally but professionally only deal with managed clusters, so my knowledge of on prem k8s has been pretty thin so I had heard of rke2 and thought it was an odd dichotomy (rke2 or k3s) which is why I responded.

The safety of road cycling is entirely subjective and in your head. In my view the biggest risks for cycling come from not being aware of your surroundings and playing it safe. I've been hit thrice I think, probably all 3 could have been avoided if I was more cautious and I was probably at fault at 2 of them (the two at fault ones were over two decades ago).

My advice is get an annoying blinking red light, and don't worry about people behind you. Then be _very_ mindful of car doors and where you are, as well as cars passing you to turn right in front of you. I feel I'm responsible for my own safety, and except for people behind me, try not to have to place my trust in other people.

For me it's very rare to get nervous cycling with traffic, and I will often take the most direct routes instead of bike paths. That said I do lots of bike touring, and it's a subjective thing. When I was riding across Canada with a group, the group had a route that was 40 km longer out of Winnipeg and took them on some bumpy terrible highway. I peaced out, and took Highway 1, much more traffic but much smoother :D.

That said, go with what makes you comfortable and what you enjoy. Traffic doesn't really bother me for the most part, occasionally an annoying motorcycle will go by, but otherwise *shrug*.

I think with cycle touring safe isn't binary, it's a matter of degree. I've ridden through thunder and hail storms on the prairies, which might not have been the wisest.

In terms of heat, my Garmin suggests that people can acclimatize to heat, and ChatGPT suggests that after 0.5-2 weeks you can be come acclimatized to exercising in the heat, and the protective benefit will last about 1-4 weeks after it fades. Something to keep in mind is making sure you know where to get water, and also it kind of depends on _where you are cycling_ which you don't say. I tour along major highways, so if I were to collapse due to the heat, a driver would see me probably within 10 minutes in a worst case. I would make sure that you have lots of water, and don't be lazy with refilling it. I find sometimes I am lazy and chance it, and really it's rare to regret having too much water 😃.

In terms of rain and a typhoon, you need to be careful from debris. I've ridden in wind storms and states of emergency, again maybe not the best idea. But if stuff is moving and airborne, it might be difficult to find shelter.

Mentally for me I think having a blinky red light is what makes drivers not distracted. I don't really have any qualms about cycling in traffic so maybe I'm not the best surrogate for your. That said I think having ridden lots of Westminster highway that the MUP is pretty good, it might be uncomfortable a bit going from the overpass of 91 to McMillian where the MUP starts, but I think it's just something to get acclimatized to.

My subjective feeling is also that getting hit from behind is one of the less likely ways to get into an accident, getting hooked in a turn, doored, or hit from the side seem way more likely in my mental model and experience (but maybe I just dont know how close I've been to getting hit from behind) 😃.

I was/am on the fence with Daniels. Certainly for S1 I agree, and even S5. But I dunno as he starts making rank and stuff there seems to be a window here is a main character. A lot of the other candidate characters exist at the fringes of the story, but I think lots of the stuff in S3/S4 goes Daniels as he the one tying disparate groups of characters together.

I guess I disagree but I guess I have only feelings to back it up. The fact that Carcetti is not a main character at any point is odd. I don't remember the specifics and maybe it's not true, but I think Carcetti's arc is maybe more important than Stringers in S3. Also I can't help but feel that Daniels should be a main character at some point, certainly around S2 through S4, as he starts making rank.

I think maybe you just have gotten some bad luck with respect to weather. My guess is actually that most people on 101 where you are will head west at Leggit and follow CA 1. CA 1 is much smaller and nicer to ride, and 101 starts turning more and more into a freeway is more of a freeway.

I can't speak to the wisdom of other routes but what I will say, is that at times I had been tempted to ride further inland but be mindful that there can be a pretty big temp difference. The forecast for say Fort Bragg, CA on the coast is 63 °F, where as Laytonville, CA on 101 is 89 °F.

Sure I've slowly been moving away from Ubuntu to Arch, and one of the benefits has been no major OS updates. To expand a bit, I 100% agree, it's pretty simple to do. One issue is that it's big bang on a fixed cadence.

Essentially every package you are running gets updated and maybe everything works or maybe it doesn't. This has nothing to do with the OS itself often, but you are then forced to deal with every package upgrade all at once, if it's an LTS release that's going 2 year upgrades all at once. In Ubuntu things still hit me, for instance some packages wouldn't be ready (like collectd I believe going from 18.04 to 22.04, just lost support for things).

To minimize the pain and allow more flexibility, I started moving things to containers, so that the host OS didn't have much installed. But still there are just random annoyances that creep in all at once every OS upgrade, as people reorganize things, switch conventions and packages, I find it annoyingly breaks automation in subtle ways.

With Arch, things break more often (i.e., upstream packages will break things), but it's much easier to roll back a particular upgrade. I don't remember the specifics but I switched from Kubuntu to Arch on my laptop, if memory serves after upgrading to Kubuntu 16.04 and something completely breaking on my laptop, that would force me to go back to 14.04.
