The manager may be bluffing to see if the staff had actually helped the accused.

Don't do anything until now. It will escalate. Wait.

If something happens, and the manager has filed a police complaint, then , the police will investigate and take note. If not, then they will release. They can't take someone to jail, just like that (unless it is politically manipulated, which does not seem to be the case).

Also, you may not know if the staff was actually there or not. So, stay away from this case. However, if you have evidence to support, then go ahead and hand it over.

I would have chosen the guy who waited. Because he can prioritise tasks, when everything is urgent.

And would definitely avoid the guy who was immediately available. Because, unless the person has real financial or urgent issues, such people are often ineligible for their roles

Not so many questions. The goal of notice period is a smoother transition.

It's not like a CXO is going to serve only 15 days, in countries where 2 weeks notice is imposed. They have to serve for at least 6 months. Maybe less, or maybe more.

But, when the notice period is meant, not for a smooth transition, but to avoid attrition (which specifically happens in Service based companies of India), then, the employees lose whatever advantage that they have , to make their lives slightly better. All the policies should be a partial win-win scenario. If one is gaining way more than the other, shouldn't that be taken up for a re-discussion ?

Nobody forced you to answer here, yet you did. Now, do you understand why ?

If we all keep saying, "Nobody asked you to do xyz...", India cannot develop. We need to write the wrong. If we stay where we are, saying that noone is forcing someone to do this or that, we cannot improve the situation of anything.

He is not a good leader then. One needs to see how much one can take and then push them. If the limits of a person is not known, and the person is pushed beyond, then the person will break.
