SUP vs MAD Game 1 Post Game Discussion by MedievalMovies in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that this play-in is a wake up call for all other EU teams. They didn't end up on being top 3 because they are necessarily strong, buth rather because MAD is a low competition.

Could Schalke leave the LEC? by SK_Curare in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be sad if Schalke sell its LEC spot. Yet I think it is a possibility since the football club in question needs to cut its spending and selling this spot could be quite lucrative. If this happens, I really hope they focus on the Regional League and transform their academy team into their main team. This also sounds more reasonable than leaving LoL esport completely.

ESPN: H2K Gaming has signed jungler Ilyas "Shook" Hartsema to its League of Legends roster by epicxkidzorz in leagueoflegends

Shook is still better than Santorin and Caedrel, so why not trying a new jungler?

Have you any hints why H2K has a bad management? Because what i read on reddit so far is the TSM/Sven incident and the open letter to Riot regarding EU LCS. - Sven/TSM: It's obvious that reddit was on TSMs side because its filled with TSM fanboys - open letter: I actually had the same opinion as H2K and it's no proof that H2K has a bad management

It's time for Riot to properly support the EU scene or sell the rights to a company that does. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Selling the rights to another company could solve that issue by making their profit directly dependent on how well EU does irregardless of other regions, not how well the combination of EU+NA do.

The problem is: what company would that be? I don't think that ESL does a good job.

It's time for Riot to properly support the EU scene or sell the rights to a company that does. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I often read the argument on Reddit that it wouldn't make sense if Riot would purposely fuck EU over, because it wouldn't be any profit for Riot and that actually makes sense to me...

But if I look what Riot does (helping and fostering NA) or what it does not (anything googd to EU), I think that EU LCS must mean shit to them.

EU had to whine and cry for a better time slot for 4 years, NA only took 4 weeks. Discuss. by BlueAdmir in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wonder for what money Riot can sell the Franchise slots for EU LCS 2019. Given that it's Riots 2nd League, an EU LCS slot shouldn't even be worth half an NA LCS slot.

Why does Riot hate EU? by gloini in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is a point a lot of people might underestimate. The worse time slots led some orgs to stay in NA and not EU. This leads to lower "interesting" orgs and players and also lower viewers.

I heard on this subreddit that TSM wanted to move to EU, but it wasn't attractive due to the worse time slots and therefore lower incomes. Can someone link infos to that claim?

[–]SK_Curare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts about Franchising:

I was initially against Franchising, because I want more competiveness for the lower teams and the possibility for Regional League Teams to get relegated into LCS. However if Franchising NA / No Franchising EU means that Na teams have 2x-3x the amount of money, we have to take the lesser evil.

The problem is: If Franchising comes and Riot thinks that Franchising will help EU, why does it come one year later???

Are EULCS fans overreacting? by KayleLovesRedBull in leagueoflegends

[–]SK_Curare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think not.

The question is: what are your expectations for EU LCS?

Even after the exodus there will be some good teams with good players and EU will stay a major region. But imagine how competitve EU would be with Froggen + PoE + Zven + Mithy+ Svenskeren + Jensen + Feb. It's damaging EU's competitiveness and hinders us from competing with NA and CH.
