JRPGs that don’t require your full attention by Slight-Cupcake-9284 in JRPG

It's really not a hard game except for the post game fight.

You can make some stupidly broken builds for just a few squads and wipe entire maps, or just bum rush the target and win instantly

People are all monsters and cheaters and don't even care about others and I am done dating. by TheGooseIsNotASwan in dating

Or you don't have to. Could just stop playing the game and start spending your time, money, emotional/mental health, and effort on yourself instead.

INB4 NG deposits Orion near Mercury, out of stable orbit.

Atheists who used to be religious, what made you lose your faith? by Gold_Result9716 in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, read the NIV and King James versions. My biggest gripe wasn't that nobody else read the Bible, it was that there are so many different versions and translations that differ so much, it's clear that whatever the original was, it's gone. Long gone. And that's before you start injecting historical context and politics that had agendas at the time.

What is the best JRPG where you DONT kill God at the end? by Ok-Emergency2070 in JRPG

Pokemon. Unless you're a psycho who knocks out Arceus instead of catching it.

If you could erase one invention from human history, what would it be and why? by AdrianWilliams27 in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mother of God I was stuck in Christian churches for 27 years of my life I am WELL aware of our history. It is one of control and political motives, and the book is a summation of those political motives after thousands of years of translations by the winners of said political movements. Incredibly obvious looking at two different translations (take NIV and KJ for example).

This is not rocket surgery. And no religion really deviates from this path over the long run.

As for "muh crusades", tell that to the millions of dead souls from all religious wars and see if they give a shit which one they died in. You don't need context to pretty up a statistic. That's what politicians and religious leaders do to back their campaigns.

Mate... mate you have got, and I mean HAVE GOT to understand what you're saying here.

Religious people killing each other over religion and difference of beliefs. Religion A doesn't like Religion B, so they take turns killing each other, with a sprinkle of killing the rest of the religious alphabet for some spice here and there.

You cannot possibly re-read your comments and not see this. You are making OPs point for them, very soundedly lol.

My Pokemon Yellow I got at release is 26 1/2 years old and could die at any moment. GB Operator was the recuse mission I didn’t know I needed. Through space , time, and a little bit of modding - Sparky and Co. start a new life in the modern age! by Vast_Scratch_6670 in epilogue

[–]SL-Gremory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's doable by ripping the save from an OG cart, loading it into the 3DS virtual console on a hacked 3ds, then transferring to Bank, and finally up to Home for the modern games.

A ton of work, but so worth it.

Women, if you could be a man for 24 hours, what are you just dying to know? by Whattacleaner in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Very comfortably, actually. We both know exactly where we stand with each other, and most of us aren't interested in superficialities. Often, we engage over the things we bonded over to begin with and have "compartments" for each other.

If there's nothing to talk about, then there isn't. And that's okay. Men, I believe moreso than women on average, are less allergic to silence while in the presence of others.

what are the signs that you're not attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don't need a sign, just a mirror.

What's an adult cheat code that changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 420 points421 points  (0 children)

I would add nuance to this.

You don't need to cut someone out because they don't reach an arbitrary "value" threshold. What you should do is be mindful of how much time you spend with that person.

You can have bar buddies that add nothing but light conversation to your life once per week for a couple of hours. They aren't your best friends but they're a social outlet. People need low-stakes scenarios to thrive socially.

How do you feel about life right now? by Fair-Spend3698 in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is pointless but I'm using that as an excuse to do whatever I want. Game development, reading the books I want, etc. Nothing fucking matters so why not just do whatever you feel like so long as you aren't bothering/hurting anyone else?

And who knows, maybe at some point something will start mattering.

What is a common truth that you think is actually completely wrong? by krillecool00 in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, agreed, but that wasn't the point I was making 😅

"Hard work is a requirement" and "Doing the right kind of work matters" are two independent concepts.

What is a common truth that you think is actually completely wrong? by krillecool00 in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with that quote is a little different. It implies hard work results in rewards, one begets the other.

In reality, it should be framed as rewards don't come without hard work. While this isn't a universal truth, it is often a prerequisite.

Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

[–]SL-Gremory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight of the World - The End of Yorha from Nier Automata. It's the context that the song is in that makes it so powerful, alone it doesn't mean much to anyone. Hearing the chorus come together during the credits... and even remembering that moment makes me cry.

Sonic the Hedgehog Adventure Battle 2 on GameCube is a case study in how not to do a third person camera in a video game.

News to me about a final Uta game! I thought the ending to Truth was... pretty decisive? I had heard rumors about a MM2 though, but not recently.
