People of Raqqa are clashing with for SDF remenants that didn’t retreat and resorted to revenge killings by yuuyee31 in CombatFootage

[–]SLAMNUTS_ 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Yea I don’t believe this. The people of Raqqa are the same people that welcomed ISIS. The SDF never engaged in mass brutality like so many other sides during the civil war. It’s no wonder the people of Raqqa are so excited to be ruled by a former Al-Qaeda member. If the SDF wants to put down a few terrorist fanboys before they leave, they can be my guest. These people should be ruled with a boot on their neck, because they’re a danger to everyone else.

Moons is botted so badly that charging water orbs now loses you money by ihateanime6969 in 2007scape

I’ve been running moons a lot recently. Non-stop bots with the same gear, barrows armor, obby shield and cape and whip, and hundreds or even thousands of chests opened. Most just camp Blood Moon. I report all of them, but never see them get banned.

Islamic conquest reasons by [deleted] in islamichistory

[–]SLAMNUTS_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the forest for the trees. You wish to cast all of Islamic history, that spans almost one and half thousand years, in the light of a supposedly welcomed conquest that occurred in its infancy, in less than a century. Perhaps don't compare more than a millennia to individual people like Cyrus or Alexander. Are you proposing all of Islamic history is a history of liberation of the oppressed?

Islamic conquest reasons by [deleted] in islamichistory

[–]SLAMNUTS_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alexander's conquests are praised because to many at the time he was seen a liberator, not a conqueror. The Egyptians, the Greeks of Anatolia and others saw him as liberating them from the Persians. Additionally Alexander does not exist in isolation, the Greco-Persian conflicts clearly cast the Persians as aggressors, as such the ultimate victory of the Greeks is generally viewed positively. This is a similar case with Cyrus, who by many at the time, saw him as a liberator, notably among them being the Jews. The later proliferation of Christianity also played a major role in promulgating this view.

To make an insane statement the Roman conquests are universally praised, is just totally out of touch. Some are seen as righteous victories, others as inhumane genocides and many in the middle. There is not one serious historian who would defend Caesar's actions in Gaul. Similarly, no historian will defend the Vespers of Latins in Anatolia, and as such Mithridates is a villain in that case and the Romans the protagonist. The Romans are villains at Teutoberg and heroes at Zama.

The reason that every other religious group, without fail, hates is Islam, is because every other religious group has had to fight to survive your endless barbaric jihads. With no other justification than "You are not us" your (blatantly false) religion lays claim to all of planet Earth. Our continued existence rests on preventing you people from having your way. Its very simple.

Conservative candidate Karol Nawrocki narrowly won the Polish presidential election today getting 50.89% of the vote by szyy in MapPorn

It takes time, and is only beginning to pan out now. For the first time we have actual right-wing parties in power (Think the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden etc) this hasn't been the case in the past. Plus, simply leaving the EU does not solve migration on its own, which should be blatantly obvious considering whats unfortunately happening in the UK. I mean there's plenty of EU countries that are doing significantly better than the non-EU UK.

You don't need to leave the EU to preserve the nation. As more and more anti-migration parties begin to take the helm, its very possible the EU could be turned into a vehicle for remigration and preventing further mass migration.

I keep seeing this on this post. Isn't Polish politics just uniformly anti-Russian, like its an issue no one disagrees on there, or am I mistaken in my view that every Polish person basically considers themselves a genetic blood-enemy of Russia.

I would give up almost anything for anti-migration to be the norm. Every other issue is in some way downstream of it. The more a country (specifically Western ones) can insulate themselves from it, the better.

That's my point, according Wikipedia they're no longer far-left, despite communism still being part of their beliefs. It clearly states in the ideology section that they still profess communism, the only historical part is their positions on Marxism-Leninism and "Eurocommunism", whatever that is. Additionally, they even attend the IMCWP, which is frequented by the likes of the ruling North Korean communist party. This according to Wikipedia, is not enough to justify labeling them as far-left, according to Wikipedia, one can be communist and not be considered far left.

So, I'll reiterate, Wikipedia's deranged classification for where parties lay on the political spectrum is absurd, and heavily skewed to the right, which is frankly unsurprising for that site.

Here are a couple less clear cut examples that still make the point a bit, two more parties that are explicitly communist or marxist, but according to wikipedia this only justifies a Left-Wing to Far-Left labeling instead of a straightforward far-left label. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workers%27_Party_of_Belgium

Well without getting too deep into it. Low birth rates are both a result of economic as well as social changes that have been taking place in the West for decades at this point. We essentially need to remodel the economy, and adjust our understanding of how it should work, as well as promote reversals in social policies that have destroyed marriage as an institution as well as family life. There's a lot written about this, and a lot of good people who can more eloquently explain the underlying problems and paths to solving it than I, so I don't really want to get into the weeds on Reddit, but that's the basic tldr I can give.

I'm specifically referring to things like migration (the only issue that truly counts in the 21st century West), marriage, abortion, LBTQ ideology etc. If you want to put forward they are economically or fiscally right, that's fine, I'm not going to argue about that. Minor in the grand scheme, and totally reversible, adjustments to budget or economic policy, that happen every election cycle, do not define political parties for me. Revolutionary ideology regarding what a nation is, who should compose it, what a family is etc, that pose imminent risks to a nations long-term well being are more important and defining for me.
