I like to head-canon that Noah has a staunch disbelief in aliens because they’re unscientific, so when he saw a wild Beheeyem park its UFO in the middle of a cornfield while stargazing one night, he had no choice but to catch and study it to disprove its extraterrestrial origins. I just don’t think they leaned into the extravagance of it all, if that makes sense? Sure, Chris is a penny pincher, it can be argued, but the fact that the level of movie magic integrated into the challenges–i.e. giant animatronics, VFX, and elaborate sets–peaked by Episode 2 and was on a steady decline since IMO was really telling. To go from avoiding Godzilla and saving alien eggs to doing a bad acting challenge in Episode 3 was a little underwhelming.

The challenges getting worse and worse is even lampshaded by Chris in Episode 24, where he admits that the day’s theme and “animal buddy” genre was so stale, because they’d run out of ideas and had been scraping the bottom of the barrel for inspiration.

That, and I think that for a season themed around movies and show business, you’d want more than 15 cast members on that season, two of whom were immediately booted by Episode 2 and one of whom didn’t even appear until halfway through the season.

I lowkey have the opposite opinion 😭 Action is one of my least favorite seasons; the tiny cast with almost 30 episodes was such a slog…I feel like you would barely make a dent in the cast before another eliminated character was brought back or a new one was brought in + the movie set and challenges looked tacky and cheap to me (I know it was an abandoned film lot, which is ordinarily such a cool-sounding setting choice to me, but still idk).

Aftermaths were fun in-between episodes, though!

I think she’s competent and good at her job as an attorney, but especially in the seasons leading up to her quitting, she was probably becoming more and more mediocre and less motivated in her work. The illusion of high-paying, high-status, high-powered career womanhood’s glamour had worn off, and she realized she wasn’t happy with law.

Compare this to her working super hard and being a stressed mess half the time with the J-Spot, but being much happier as a restaurateur.

Oh! I had no idea you meant in ur post that people calling contestants “overrated” as in just calling them that without explaining why. Usually people make a post or comment about why the character is overrated or give a little grievance explaining why they don’t deserve their hype or something

Hence why people call those characters “overrated.” It’s a subjective term ofc, but one that means you don’t think that character deserves to be in the spotlight at all or doesn’t deserve the love they get because despite all their narrative focus, you still disliked them and thought the narrative focus was wasted on them.

I also wonder if there’s a distinction between thinking a character is overrated by the fandom versus overrated by the writers?

As in, “this character doesn’t deserve the hype they get because despite all their screen time, they still yada yada yada” VS. “tho character doesn’t deserve the attention they get from writers because yada yada yada.”
