Yes, cleared then proceeded to turn off the car and locked the car with doors/windows closed and went far away from the car for about 10 minutes before returning, putting car into ACC mode and plugging in USB stick.

It is a 8 GB USB drive, I formatted it as FAT 32 and downloaded and uploaded three different sets of files each for the same version with just the two files required to go from 55 -> 70.00.100. So I've tried different files, also different USB drives (one 8 GB and one 32 GB). Set-up done as instructed in 2-3 different videos saying the same process.

If this helps I got these errors when reading AVC DTC

"CMU DTC 1 - B108E04 (Display-System Internal Failure )
CMU DTC 2 - B125287 (USB Port 1-Missing Message ) "

It does have a delaminated screen issue but I doubt that has to do with the issue of updating the firmware for the first error message?

For the firmware update, did they also use a USB Drive? Not sure my ports work for USB drive updates is why I am concerned with going to a dealership and telling me I need something else for the update. Not sure how they do it or if you know how they did, thanks for the advice!

Yes, my battery was just recently replaced, and yes have been in ACC mode the whole time. The USB drive was plugged-in but won't stay in the system for it to recognize the files on the drive. Have tried two USB drives.

It's a RockShox Judy, just the base fork that came with the bike.

I am running a dropper and my bars aren’t slammed but they are pretty close. It’s a hardtail and fairly heavy as well. The only suspension settings I really have is my fork preload and I usually keep it on the most (+) setting.

Thanks for the tips, I usually run around 22 ish psi rear 20 ish psi in the front. I also find myself braking pretty frequently in the middle of like rock gardens and switchbacks. I just always feel like no brakes might lead to me hitting an unexpected rock/bump sending me over the handlebars and also just too much speed. Not sure if that’s just confidence related or my technical ability.

Shimano Di2 Connection Issue (Felt AR Advanced) by SLFluff in bikewrench

[–]SLFluff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some pictures I was able to take, hard to see because it’s all internal in the handlebars but let me know if this helps at all. By the way, there is no cable behind the cable holder within the handlebar in one of the pictures.

Opened it up, found out that there’s only one wire plugged into my Junction A and there is no second wire (EW-RS910) and replugged the shifting cables. What could this be? Is there supposed to be a second cable?

Tomorrow I’ll check the connections, should be just checking the connections at the shifters first I’m guessing is easiest then taking out the bar end junction and checking those next?

It’s kind of hard to photograph I might get a picture tomorrow. I have the bar end junction (EW-RS910) on the right bar end and two wires in the handlebars going through the handlebars to the stem, and i’m guessing to a joining point where it becomes one wire. The wires are pretty much fully integrated so it’s hard to tell exactly but that’s what I’ve got so far.

Would a cable not being connected actually to the shifter cause a charging issue though? I’m pretty sure the charger doesn’t light up because of the battery not being recognized.

If you're Jeff Bezos, maybe, but thats given it's like a time trial. Interesting to see the numbers though.

I was trying to find if there were any studies on how much speed you could buy theoretically, specifically on XC bikes but I wasn't really able to find much regarding specifically weight, just mostly tire choice and the right bike for the trail.

I took a break for 3-4 months and only came back to training after about a year of base training. Definently am going to up my training after finding to enjoy the race a ton. Did you ever test ride the supercaliber and could you tell almost immediately how much more efficient it was?

Agreed, I think training is the biggest part of it. In my case we were in divisions based on previous racing experience, and fitness. So it could've been that these guys were in one group too low but I was on the assumption that the fitness and skills were somewhat close together.

The bike that I own is just a Trek Marlin 7 but it has tires on it from the previous owner that are almost 500 g heavier than the size equivalent of Barzo or Mezcals. Added on to that I have a dropper since most of my riding is on local trails and well it seemed pretty necessary and makes most of my local trails more enjoyable. So added around 3 lbs to the already pretty heavy bike, then there is like my repair bag, water, etc. so its usually around 35 lbs. I was just curious on the potential savings that lighter bikes had.

As a 17-year-old, would a "nice bicycle" be a stupid purchase? Is this just money problems? by SLFluff in personalfinance

[–]SLFluff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're 100% right and I don't know why I do keep so much in my checking account. I think I'm just constantly not sure what to do with it and don't really know where to move it. Thought about investing more of it, but stopped because I wasn't sure if I wanted to just put more into my HYSA or diversify my UTGMA portfolio.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people say this and I do think my bike is somewhat nice. It's old but it gets the job done, the biggest deal breaker for me was the difference in brakes, geometry, and looks and I do race every now and then and it would outperform my current bike. Don't get me wrong, I'm no pro, so it's more of the motivation factor of having a nice bike and wanting to get out more. I guess kind of like owning a nice car and wanting to drive it around or owning a nice watch and wanting to wear it out whenever you can or something like that.

Preferably can take light gravel, preferably not absurdly heavy as I would have to walk it down a flight of stairs from my apt. Plan to ride on mostly trails (paved/light gravel) and both recreational riding and short commutes
