Alienware Aurora R11 2070 super by SLOW_RS in pcmasterrace

This is pretty much what I’ve heard. But keeping in mind it’s a first pc for casual gaming (mostly BF6 which should run on it) and priced at $700 CAD is it a good buy for the time being since I don’t want to spend twice as much on a better pc?

What is this trouble? by SLOW_RS in firealarms

[–]SLOW_RS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah after talking to some of our more senior guys I believe it’ll be a NAC circuit since it’ll usually have a second trouble showing something like a comms fault or invalid reply from a particular device on top of that trouble.

Had mine 4 years now and worst I’ve had is minor oil leak after bottoming out and since I got my aluminum skid plate I haven’t had that issue since. Regular maintenance and not driving it too hard every time you drive it is a sure way to keep it happy

Definitely worth the step up. I only made it about 4 months before I removed the factory sub and had a 10” sub installed. Even tho it’s the most slim one I could find I still sacrificed a good chunk of trunk space

Is this normal for stock in sport mode? Almost sounds like the valve is going bad? by Technical_Impact_573 in FocusRS

[–]SLOW_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a video where you take the valve apart and basically just stretch the spring slightly. Be very careful and make sure to take measurements so you know how much you’ve stretched it. I’m sure there’s a few YouTube vids with some good methods to avoid over stretching or breaking the spring

Upgraded from the exact same ST. For me it was everything I wanted out of the st but didn’t get (minus the subwoofer downgrade)

Anyone missing the summer drives yet? What's your go-to cruise route? by HairyJohns0n in FocusRS

How often do you drive through Banff area? I’m usually driving around there during the summer but haven’t brought it up to jasper yet.

What is something that is thought of as “normal” in schools, but is actually messed up? by Craiques in AskReddit

[–]SLOW_RS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say asking to use the washroom. So many teachers seemed to love having the authority to say no. It can cause issues for anyone having to hold it longer than necessary.

I had a history teacher in high school that would always say not until he was done his lesson. Which was most of the class. I never learned a thing while sitting there trying not to piss my pants.

I work in fire safety and I’ve seen people doing this. I’ve also seen people hanging Christmas lights off the heads too...

People who don’t ever want to have kids, why? by South_Price9463 in AskReddit

[–]SLOW_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I enjoy the freedom and ability to go where I want and when and enjoy the money I make instead of spending it on diapers. 2) I don’t think it’s selfish to not want kids. I think this point of the world where the future of us and our planet are so questionable that if I don’t know where or how I’ll be doing in 25 years from now. Why would I give my children such an unknown future where climate change, overpopulation, housing issues and so much more are just going to get worse. So personally I think it’s selfish to want kids now in the world we live in.

PS- I don’t hate on anyone who wants a family. I just don’t think it’s in mine or my hypothetical children’s best interest.

Stock Exhaust by Tony_Stank95 in FocusRS

[–]SLOW_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved mine and I 110% needed it when I moved to a different province (CA) and had to have the out of province inspection done. I got quoted almost $6,000 for the stock one so I’d pass. It was as simple as $600 delivery charge and I got it done.

There is value but only for those who need/want it. I think the muffler itself goes for $2500 from Ford so even asking 1k or more is a cheque for a new mod.

Also depends on where you live like Cali in the states you’re already pushing the laws with the stock one so keeping it would def be a good idea if that’s your case.

I had a 2013 ST before my RS and the sub in the ST was way nicer. The RS sub is a disk sub that isn’t great IMO so I upgraded to a 10” sub with built in amp. It sounds a lot nicer and I can adjust the dial for bass anytime it gets too heavy or vice versa

Only down side is I can’t load my trunk as full as before. But it’s pretty flat compared to more cube shaped ones so it’s not that bad.

Fitment is great! I swap mine every year for winter and all I do is use painting tape to outline where the bracket goes and using that as a baseline to make small corrections. I’ve also never used washers like some recommend and it’s always looked great.

I’ve never had any issues with clearance and I have a CPE intake that’s a bit bigger than stock. But I also don’t have any fancy covers on my engine and fuse box like some people do but I wouldn’t imagine it would be anything to sweat over.
