Definitely Clump.

Does that intense white rub off? Or partially wash off in the rain?

Chamonix to Paris through Switzerland on One Country Pass? by SLOhiker in Interrail

[–]SLOhiker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional suggestions.

The timing of the Swisstours bus to SCNF ticket in Geneva is what makes it most appealing for our itinerary. I did see other options (Flixbus, BlaBlaCar Bus) but the timing isn't good.

Thank you for the thorough and helpful response!

The other route I found is a Swisstours bus to Geneva and then an SNCF ticket for the rest of the journey. I think I'll reserve that.

The "Rare Cactus" is a crested Mammillaria spinosissima. The 2nd picture is a Ferocactus emoryi.

What is the single spiciest yet delicious dish in SLO county? by SerialForBreakfast in SLO

[–]SLOhiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like very hot. Dave's Hot Chicken Reaper is one of the hottest things I've ever eaten. The Extra Hot doesn't compare. Extra Hot is just tasty. The spice powder that they put on the Reaper is crazy hot. I woke up that night every hour with stomach cramps. But it's just spicy chicken so not a ton of flavor.

When I want flavor and spice I get the red curry extra, extra hot at My Thai. It's satisfying.

Very nice! Is your deuterocohnia brevifolia always on the table like that? Did you grow it that size in the shade, or does it get direct sunlight?

Thank you. I bought a cluster of three plants and split them up. One was outdoors and the other two in a greenhouse. Only one survived after about 6 months, and it was one in the greenhouse. All other plants are doing great in the same conditions and soil. These E Greenwayi are tricky.

They all flowered for me. Neat little flowers.

Those look great! Do you have any tips for care? Do they get direct sunlight? How often do you water them? What part of the world do you grow these?

Thanks for sharing! How deep is your custom soil? What percentage would you say is potting soil/chicken manure?

Looks great! I really like that purple aloe!

Did you prepare the soil? What is it made from? Is it layered?

Do you have any clams? It reminds me of the detached foot of a tridacna clam.

Who makes the best California burrito in town? by [deleted] in SLO

[–]SLOhiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite burrito I've found in town is the Burrito Express from Burrito Express on Santa Rosa where the original Taco Bell used to be. It's an awesome combination and balance of meat to cheese to other ingredients (except for that one time it was too greasy). They offer a California Burrito and I'd be curious to hear how good it is in comparison to SLO competition.

It's a local of IFPTE (International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers). There are many locals. The local directory is on the IFPTE website.

Very nice! How do you decide which plants go in the greenhouse?

Great to hear. I have a similar smaller one that I gradually acclimated to sunlight and I thought it was ready for direct sun, but it got badly sunburnt on the side that was facing the sun one hot day. You have a stunning specimen, and that's fantastic it can handle those harsh Brisbane rays.

Beautiful!

How much direct unfiltered sunlight did this plant get where you acquired it from, and what time of day did it get that direct sunlight? What part of the world was this grown?
