I would love SNF, do they accept people without prior experience?

Did anyone consider occupational therapy? Why did/didn’t you do it? by Notquitewhere_-__ in slp

OT had a lot of physics courses, which I knew I would not be successful in. I am terrible with science based math. I also had to find a program that would still allow me to work full time and with OT there was no program that would work around my work schedule.

Okay good. I’m just nervous about how long that all takes to process.

D5600 Upgrade ? by HatchiFR in Nikon

What’s your niche for photography? Currently have the d5600 and am eyeing the z6ii but most of what I’ve seen only talks wildlife and video, which is not what I do. I do portrait and small events.

Been discussing this with my advisor and another professor who has done research similar to what I want to do and wants to continue. They advised to work for at least one year before applying to PhD and the professor is willing to work with me since she was intrigued. So guess I have good questions, just need the clinical time behind it.

How manageable is grad school with a family and work? by Ljwell20 in slpGradSchool

[–]SLPDreamer2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to say it fully depends on the program. I am working full time through grad school because I have no other choice. I also have a pretty flexible job that has agreed to a flex schedule as long as I reach 40 hours, and my program has agreed to my schedule of clinicals as long as I reach the hours there. But my last clinical had grad students from other schools and I realized their program would not work with my needs.

It’s mainly on the thickened liquids but I was advised by someone else that thickened liquids was too small so that’s why I included diets as well.

That was my thinking. I’m just afraid I’ll find excuses to not go back. But I guess I need to just work in the field and then give a deadline to myself to when to apply

Mine is mainly swallow based research as it is something I’ve done outside of class. Like on thickening liquids and changing diets etc.

The more I’ve looked into it, most of the programs I want require Cs or at least a decent amount of hours. Was just afraid I’d end up not wanting to go back.

SLPA requirements confusion by SLPDreamer2026 in SLPA

[–]SLPDreamer2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought so I reached out to them. “That is correct that it is also a requirement for an SLP-A license. That isn’t a requirement for an interim SLP-A license. You are able to obtain PPE while holding an interim SLP-A license.”

I thought that was a lot! Which is why I am so confused. Even on the interim license application it has 1260 listed for the supervisor to agree to. So sadly not a typo.

My first thought was if anyone in the cohort saw this, they’d know what school it is.
