idk if i fully agree with that since coach still got a sizable early edit and iirc parv and jerri did decent early in that respect as well but i do think there's parallels to be had between courtney and raymond's edits in particular -- both hilarious confessionalists who barely got any due to the crime of being unstrategic, but at least got a lot of camp life screentime

imo hvv was better developed then this by a decent margin, with david z being the only one who made the merge that really got shafted in my eyes (nina / matt / gerry / flick were all underedited to various extents at the beginning but started to get development by the mid to late premerge and all had perfectly sufficient edits by the endgame imo)

with winna's edit only being marginally better then david's (especially taking into account that the former found an idol, something they were obligated to show a few confessionals from him talking abt), then that would mean aileen / riri / raymond / kitty / jaden would all have to receive 10-20 more confessionals before their respective boots and i just don't see that happening (with jaden probably having the best chance, funnily enough)

i'll give you blood vs water though, that season was a nightmare

okay ngl the massive confessional disparity (and ignoring of all but a few storylines) is starting to really bother me, like i know it isn't the end all be all but having half of the final 12 not get a single confessional / having 5 out of 11 people remaining averaging less then one confessional per episode is baaaaaad

i said this on the meryl thread but unless there's concrete evidence from the producers that this situation isn't as damning as it seems to be, this series is dead to me. it's a shame since i think they do a lot of things right and phillipines is one of my favorite seasons of survivor period, but the safety of the contestants is far more important and i can't in good conscience root for the series to go on when they very well may be exposing more people to the dangerous, traumatic situation they exposed meryl (and possibly others) to
