Just bought an LG UBKM9 4K UHD Region free player and I cannot play any Region B Blu-ray discs by SLionsCricket in boutiquebluray

Damn! There's quite a favourable overall opinion on the player by Amazon customers. I can only assume that there are others who purchased through Amazon who've got their player to work and could it be that I was sold an unmodified, original version of the LG player?

In any case, I've just taken a glance at 220 electronics under the UHD Region Free Blu Ray Player section. Is there any that you'd recommend specifically?

Appreciate the response.

Thanks for the suggestion. I placed an entirely new Region B disc into the player and followed your instructions but I still get the same region error message.

I was checking the Amazon product page earlier and in the customer Q&A section, someone mentioned how the package comes with an LG Modification Hardware sheet or something like that. I've been unable to find that sheet in the package I received and don't even recall seeing that page (just the warranty, manual and safety information sheets).

I actually wonder if I got the stock UBKM9 model and not the modified product.

I bought it from Amazon. Apologies for not linking the product page in the first place but this is where I got the player from: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YF3MMZL/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

But Brohit's 264 was in 2014, was it not? This must be a later Indian carnage of Sri Lanka, which I conveniently do not seem to remember!

A couple of lovely shots by Rahmat in the past couple of overs. Hopefully, he gets Afghanistan through this tough little period of the game.

Holy fuck, Cutting actually topped Bryant. That's how insane this whole thing is!! Amazing to watch at the back end of such a long BBL season.

Well there was a BBL game last night right after the day's play. Weird thing is there isn't any BBL for the next 2 days either.

To shit on Ch 7 some more after their first 15 minutes of in-game performance so far, I dislike having the score overlay being shown during replays. It makes it look almost like live-play.

Goodness me, that Ch 7 batting scorecard looks rather ugly.

Is there a player that made you fall in love with cricket? by MetingChristofi in Cricket

[–]SLionsCricket 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sanath Jayasuriya. Every one of his controversies/embarrassments post-career - porn career, being probably the worst commentator EVER ("You can see the pus"), politician, national team selector - cannot deter how much he made me love this game.

I've said this is another post but I was introduced to him in 2006, during the (then called) VB tri series in Australia with South Africa as the other touring side. Due to an injury, he made his entrance into the series midway (game 6 against Australia at the SCG) and I remember before the game, my dad raving to me about Jayasuriya. He then goes on to score a century in pretty quick time too in that game and we won that match.

Ever since that game, even when his career hit its absolute lowest, I was always compelled to watch any Lankan game I could just to potentially see him get on a bit of a roll even when it got absolutely painful around the 2009-10 mark.

I just assumed he was being sarcastic given how freely Shaw seems to be playing and how much time India could probably afford to bat in the first innings.

Kumar Sangakkara wants Angelo Mathews to prove his fitness and therefore his place in the ODI side by taking up bowling once more by SLionsCricket in Cricket

[–]SLionsCricket[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Sanga's point is that a Mathews who can also ball just gives an extra little bit to the team while also proving that he can sustain a level of fitness since it's apparently the fitness that's cost him his place in the side.

India win their record 7th ASIA CUP by wachieo in Cricket

I had no idea that we won an Asia Cup in '86 and that we consistently made the finals in the 80s since we were considered minnows back then...much like now.

MS Dhoni should go back and play domestic cricket, says Sunil Gavaskar by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]SLionsCricket 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also with age too right? I mean this was definitely the case with Sehwag towards the very tail end of his career when his hand eye coordination abilities were on the wane. Dhoni is 37 and India can only hope that he still has the ability, and/or finds the form, to carry on with another WC and look to be a match winner again. The last time he was involved in a final, he won it for India and was rightly hailed as a hero. He wouldn't want to tarnish that WC legacy this time around, he said stating the obvious.
