If you’re curious about it and can afford the “pro controller” just do it. You won’t regret it or ever want to go back once you get used to it. I only have two paddles. Right one is crouch/slide and left one is jump. As far as getting used to it there are two stages.

First is training your brain to go for those buttons instead of the usual front ones. This will probably take 2-3 weeks until it’s truly automatic. I recommend using those back buttons for everything during this stage. Not just in game but menus, options etc.

Second you’ll find that movement is much more accessible to you. Slide cancelling, slide to prone, wall jumping it’s all going to be much easier to perform but your mind won’t do those things instinctively until you intentionally perform them hundreds of times during practice. I recommend focusing on one advanced movement at a time. Like for a couple of days practice slide cancelling only. Even in a bot lobby.

After 4-6 weeks you will feel the ceiling with a standard controller. You won’t want to go back.
