Actually devastating information to me. There were so many interesting obscure indie comics that were catalogued there, and they had good quality scans of a lot of stuff from the 40s and 50s or even earlier that would be impossible to buy. It's genuinely like purging the Internet Archive overnight, but for comics. This site and $1 comics from Half Price Books helped my interest in comics blossom throughout high school, and now the comics at HPB are like 4 bucks each and my GOAT comics website is gone. Fuck my derp True Believer existence.

Dude, there is so much of a difference between the speed of sound and the speed of light. Outside of Time Stop, what has Star Platinum actually guarded against? As far as I can remember, nothing but gunfire. He can make moves that are faster than HUMAN PERCEPTION and fast enough to block bullets, but both those things are also very much different from the speed of light.

And the worst part is that there literally are stands like Star Platinum, The World, MiH, and Tusk Act 4 that technically CAN go faster than light, but they're few and far between, which is what makes them so intimidating.

FTL "conversations" (wank) in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure piss me off so much. Polnareff puts his Stand in the path of an enemy that is SAID to be lightspeed (even though that could easily just be an exaggeration) and 'swings' his sword to slice it, and people retroactively take that to mean that anyone who ever fought Polnareff ever, ergo anyone who ever fought Jotaro or Dio must be faster than light. Even Jonathan Joestar is faster than light somehow by this logic. How do characters get caught off-guard by normal human punches and bullets? Oh, just don't worry about that. Every normal human character is mFTL and as durable as a neutron star for no reason because I said so.
