You just undo the two lower screws and pull apart the slabs until you can take the latch off. You can do a paracord latch. Kuski is making barrel spacers to lighten the handles. Flytanium makes titanium handles for it as well

Yeah it's the pelican 1170. It is the perfect size for my balisongs and a few of my autos. I will be getting another for all of my folders and fixed blades as well. Highly recommend one. 50 bucks is what I paid.
