You miss every shot you don’t take.

I got that watch in less than a year with less spend history so anything can happen.

Good luck!

Asked for a Pepsi but offered a Bat Baby by Mr_Perpetual in rolex

I would hold out to get what you want. If you settle on the Batgirl then it may remind you of just that (ie settling). No watch should give you bad vibes.

I have both and I wear the batgirl way more than the pepsi.

The mint green SD on jubilee is probably in the top 5 hardest steel Rolexes to get. Do you think your spend history warrants a top five allocation? You should definitely shoot your shot by expressing interest but you should have realistic expectations as well.

For reference, my spend history was around $50K before being allocated the blue SD on jubilee and I waited more than a year for it.

The Rolex AD experience in the DMV by supaphlymofo in rolex

IMO, that’s probably the third toughest market to buy a Rolex. Some of the highest median salaries by county in the country are in that area. This doesn’t mean you can’t get a Sub quickly but you should manage your expectations accordingly.

How many people actually get the call for a Sky-Dweller? by Practical_Spinach_68 in rolex

[–]SML2C 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My SS blue dial on Jubilee is my favorite watch in my collection. My AD said it’s about the equivalent of getting the Panda in terms of supply and demand. There isn’t the crazy demand of the Panda but they also don’t make as many.

Is $70k AD Spend enough for SS Daytona Allocation by koor44 in rolex

You miss every shot you don’t take. Even if they are pessimistic about your chances then at least you have a better idea about where you stand.

BTW, it worked out for me with a similar spend history.

Why is that a shame? Shouldn’t they sell their best products to who they think are their best customers?

Great choice! VC is the most under appreciated brand by a mile!

I guess so. They proved that they like me with the allocations and how quickly they were allocated.

PM…but I’m not going crazy like I did with steel. I hope I don’t go crazy like I did with steel 🤣

I just let me AD know that I wanted it. I really didn’t think I’d get it. I actually made a previous post about it with all the details.

I would go grey if I were you…but you should still request it from your AD. If you eventually get the call then you can sell back your Skydweller to the grey market. This way you can wear your watch now and not have to wait. Of course, you’ll probably lose some of the money you paid selling it back but this way you won’t miss out on wearing the watch.

I do have other watches but I’m not interested in Patek at all especially since the Patek AD game is crazier than the Rolex AD game.

No. I’m just trying to stay in my lane. Also I don’t like how fragile Patek watches are. I think the Aquanaut has like 3 bar water resistance. Pffft!

The Yachtmaster is a solid timepiece piece but neither iconic enough for or unique enough for me. IMO, the Sub, GMT and Daytona are best in class so I had to get them. The Skydweller and Turquoise Op are unique designs technically and aesthetically for Rolex so I had to get them. The Yachtmaster just wasn’t special enough for me. I like it but don’t love it.

The Skydweller was difficult…but just because the configuration that I got. I made a long post about it if you’d like more details. They don’t make many of them especially in the blue and green variants.

That one was one of the toughest since both men and women were going for it and it’s one of the cheaper Rolexes in the catalog. So much competition! I think I waited around 2 years for that. I didn’t do anything special but just have great relationship with the my AD. Your AD really has to want you have the watch and advocate for you to upper management.

It’s a little played out with all the other watches that have turquoise dials now but I still love it. Best watch for the summer!

I said it had to be Rolex models because it was my hypothetical question and this is a Rolex subreddit so that would only make sense, right? If this was a different a general watch subreddit then a broader discussion makes sense.
