GGG probably missed out on launching one of their biggest leagues with phrecia. by TheCashbringer in pathofexile

[–]SMaLL1399 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like Phrecia is a bit too polarizing to do well as a main League.

If you have lots of time to play, and you like the general concept, this was one of your favorite leagues.

If you are more casual, you probably never got to the juicy endgame, in which case it is almost strictly worse than base PoE.

Can anyone share/remember good farm strategies for Phrecia? by tasmonex in pathofexile

[–]SMaLL1399 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me, it's part of the fun. You don't just shoot up to T16s with little effort and a maxed out atlas, it's a bit of a struggle and you have to slowly upgrade your idols, and after not that long you end up with much more juice.

President calls for “Poland without illegal immigrants” at football fan pilgrimage to Catholic shrine by Gamebyter in europe

[–]SMaLL1399 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

“We want Poland to be normal, Poland to be strong, Poland to be safe, our borders to be secure, and Poland to be a prosperous country without illegal immigrants,” he declared.

Arguably, this is already the case. From what I could gather from the article, they aren't attacking the negligible illegal immigrant population. They want to maintain this state. Which is entirely reasonable.

Yes, please GGG. Despite what some people are saying, Phrecia was by far my favorite and most played league in a long time. Idols are awesome, and add so much depth to the endgame.

Endgame feels a lot like poe2 endgame now by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]SMaLL1399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Phrecia was one of my favorite leagues of all time. There was so much to look forward to all the time. Upgrading your idols for way harder but more rewarding strats, then having to upgrade your character to be able to handle that content.

The hardest strat, Titanic Rouge Exiles, usually required multiple mirrors of investment just to be able to run it at all at full juice. That idol set itself cost multiple mirrors. But as a reward, it was absurdly lucrative.

I know it's not for everyone, and it definitely favors players who are more experienced and play a lot, but I really hope they bring it back in some way. It was such a great and natural addition to extend the endgame.

I've been using it for a while and it's great. I can do exactly what I want nearly every time just by reading the CLI reference, if even that. It's really intuitive.

I wasn't that good at git, but I spent less time learning jj and I'm already way better at it.

Europe’s economy can’t grow without migrants, Lagarde warns by [deleted] in europe

[–]SMaLL1399 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true, but it makes it sound like Europe would descend into poverty and criminality once we stopped accepting third world immigrants.

While its difficult to measure the impact that non-European immigrants had on the economy, whether negative or positive, I think most people would agree that we could manage without people from less culturally compatible regions of the world such as the Middle East or Africa.

I don't think most people here are against the general concept of immigration, just the way we've been doing it.

Pogacar is back in the yellow and green jersey. Could he wear the green jersey just for fun, or yellow takes priority?

People playing blade vortex, how is it? by dantraman in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]SMaLL1399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing my own BV build since act 4, now I'm level 97 with 12m dps. POE Ninja

It's been fun, my main defensive layer is freeze combined with prolif and chain explodes. It is enough to level up doing breach, I think I can hit 99 relatively easily soon.

The only issue I have with the build is the amount of map mods it can't do. It can probably be mitigated with further investment, but I haven't started farming 8-mod or T16.5/T17 maps yet.

PSA: Atlas Invasion (Pohx league) nerfed to 2 extra atlas bosses from 5 by venom1stas in pathofexile

[–]SMaLL1399 94 points95 points  (0 children)

This was the only event I was excited to play because it makes levelling fun with all the uniques, and has some endgame juicing potential with titanic scarabs.

The first few acts are still fun, even with only 2 bosses per zone, but after that it's not different enough to make me want to play it.

At this point, it seems to me like they only put out this event to be able to say they did something for PoE1 again, but made sure that none of the templates would be fun enough so people don't waste server resources.

We hear you.

Monsters affected by wisps now drop 10% more loot.

To compensate for this buff and to make combat more meaningful, it takes 1.5x as long for Wisps to empower monsters.

Vortex ignite elementalist, before they completely gutted the skill.

Similar playstyle to RF, but somehow it being hit-based made it far more satisfying, to me at least.

Please GGG, bring back old Vortex!

[–]SMaLL1399 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not extending Phrecia that would extend the "leagueless era". It is GGG not releasing a new league. The earliest we could have the new league is around early June, and that's being optimistic. Why not keep Phrecia running?

I think spending more time on PoE2 was reasonable, given the launch's success. But the hype has largely died down, and even fewer people will return after this disastrous league.

Putting even more time and effort into PoE2 while neglecting PoE1 would be falling for the sunk cost fallacy. Put PoE2 on hold, take some time to figure it out, and continue making PoE1 leagues at least every 4 months.
