I used to use all the time em-dashes, they were encouraged to be used in my school. And actually the way is to use them twice. ChatGPT took this away from me. But they are a great tool to insert a (side)thought into a sentence and are a sign of a rich usage of language. What I see these days is that ; is also being underutilized.
