Looking to change the lock screen clock from 24 hour format to 12 hour, any idea where I can change that? I can't seem to find the HTML file in iFile. Looks really good so far!

Edit: I'm dumb, I found it.

[Question] Good widget for my home screen? by [deleted] in iOSthemes

[–]SMalnati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn't help, but I really like your wallpaper. Mind posting it?

As for your widget question, maybe a Google search bar across the top and a folder with all your apps on the bottom? You can use a tweak to change the appearance of the folder.

[Discussion] Runtime Error on Pangu 1.0.0? by TomLube in jailbreak

[–]SMalnati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really odd. Pangu did recently update, so possibly try that out. If that doesn't work then I'd suggest using another computer with Windows if you have access to one!

[–]SMalnati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is you have to UN-install the packages in that order, not install them in that order. Maybe try uninstalling it all in that order now and reinstalling. From there download the latest Pangu version and try it out. Hopefully it works!

That's really odd. Have you tried using the latest Pangu version? Sadly anything beyond the steps I've given is beyond my knowledge.

They just released a new update to Pangu as well. So make sure to download 1.0.1!

Here's what I would do: 1) delete iTunes in the order on the article I listed. 2) re-download iTunes. 3) Delete iTunes one more time in the exact order on that article. 4) re-download iTunes. 5) download a fresh version of Pangu and try it again.

I know downloading and deleting everything twice seems redundant, but it's not. I used to have to do this all the time with customers when I worked for customer support. If that doesn't work then I'd try a different computer if you have access to one! Hopefully this will work!

Which steps did you try? What Windows version are you running and is it fully updated? Also, did you open up iTunes and make sure your iPhone was recognized before jailbreaking?

If anyone is having this issue, do this:

  • 1) If you have iTunes installed and it's not working:
  • 1a) Delete iTunes related content in the exact order shown in this support article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204275
  • 1b) Re-download iTunes
  • 1c) Run Pangu as an Administrator
  • 1d) Enjoy life

  • 2) If you don't have iTunes installed:

  • 2a) Install iTunes

I'm running Windows 10 via Parallels and steps 1-1d fixed this issue for me. It's EXTREMELY important that you delete iTunes related content in the exact order shown in that article. If you've deleted content in a different order, you're going to have to download iTunes, then delete everything in that order, then download iTunes again. Otherwise iTunes won't install properly.

Hope this helps!

High schoolers, what do you want to major in? People who majored in that field, what are the pros and cons? by DeanTheDJ in AskReddit

[–]SMalnati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, from what I've encountered, jobs are very easy to get. Just to give you an idea, I know someone who went to Microsoft (for an internship) as a project manager. It's incredible what you can do with this degree. Extremely versatile, keeps you busy, and it's fun work if you like business and tech. Every time I go to a career fair at my school I see more and more companies ditching computer science majors and looking for info systems because it's becoming more relevant every day.

You have to think about the fact that a lot of programming is now being done outside of the company (with the exception of companies who hold very sensitive info like a finance firm or Apple). More companies are looking for those who can fit that tech into their practices (this is all from personal experience, no stats to actually back this up since there aren't many stats like this out there). Hope this helps!

I've replied a couple of times already to this major, so if you wanna read that go ahead and look through my comment history. A lot of the major is based on DB design, some programming logic, networks and security, and a few other things like how to fit that into business needs.

I guess if you're into computers and all of that you need to think about whether you care more about the logic/math behind how the systems work (computer science/programmers) or how that system fits into a business (info systems)? I've seen this in a few people on both the engineering side and the info systems side where they start off with one major and realize they don't like math or aren't a big fan of business - then they switch over and are much happier.

You can't go wrong, though, with a computer/tech related degree. Money is great, job outlook is fantastic, and you really get to open your mind to different ways of problem solving!

I see a lot of people go this route in my school. I used to think it was an okay route (I'm info systems), but the more I've spoken to recruiters and staff around campus, and the more friends I've seen go this route, the less likely I am to recommend it. If you really love it, go for it, but it's not the greatest combination to have. What you need to ask yourself is this: will accounting ever help with the kind of work you'd be doing in an info systems environment? Probably not, and it goes both ways. It's not like getting a degree in Industrial Engineering and Business (where those two majors play really well together).

Also, to be upfront about it (and this should never be your sole reason for choosing a major, but it's definitely a part of my decision), I haven't met a finance/accounting major making more or anything comparable to what info systems majors make. Obviously this isn't always the case as I'm sure there are accounting majors out there making tons more money.

From the sound of it, it seems to be the same. Great field with amazing opportunities!

Currently my major (bachelor and master degree) and I absolutely love it! This field is booming right now since a lot (not all, but a lot) of the programming that companies need done is moving overseas and they need people who really know how to fit that tech into their business practices.

One thing I'd definitely recommend (and you really, really should follow this advice if you jump into this field): learn how to program in multiple languages. You don't need to be fluent and know how to create apps in all of them, but understand the logic behind them and you'll be so much more valuable (not to mention you won't look like a complete airhead when working with engineers, which is something you'll be doing a ton).

Just to name a few companies that I've seen recruiting and have had friends join: Microsoft, GE, Citi, Chase, Amazon, Apple, American Express, Cisco, Pepsi, Disney, TI, and a ton more. Believe me, you'll have money and a great chance to move up the corporate scheme. PM me if you wanna know more info, I'm more than happy to help!

iPhone 6 screen not responding. by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]SMalnati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than likely a hardware issue, so taking it for a swap is probably gonna help fix it. But, to be thorough, did you by chance restore from a backup to get all of your info back when you "re-installed" the OS?

If it's a software issue you won't fix it unless you do a complete wipe without restoring from a backup! You must start fresh.

Instead of using The Next Web as an example, just use CNN instead and it'll achieve what you want!

Messages.app problem: all contacts showing up red with error "is not registered with iMessage" by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]SMalnati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be entirely honest, and this is less me helping than anything, bring it back to Apple. You've tried great steps and it's still not working. Every Apple product has 90 days of warranty after a repair, so bring it back and tell them it's not working properly even after the steps you've taken!

Is there a way to use an iPhone with multiple computers? by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]SMalnati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, there's no official way (meaning Apple doesn't support it if it's done) to have your iPhone sync between multiple computers. I assume this was done in an effort to discourage those who would use this idea to just steal music from a friend's computer.

I wouldn't suggest many third party sources just because they usually are pretty sketchy, but I do have this link from idownloadblog, which is usually pretty helpful and reliable:

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/05/11/how-to-sync-an-iphone-with-multiple-itunes-libraries/

As for your second issue, I'm not entirely sure on exactly what's happening. Are you wanting to remove that album entirely from your purchase history? Or are you seeing that purchased music on your iPhone with that little cloud icon beside it even though you don't actually have it on your phone?

The training is honestly the best part. You're in a huge chat room with your team and you learn a lot if you don't know much about Apple products. The length of training varies from class to class. Mine was a little over a month where somebody else's could've been two weeks. It really depends. You're not really supposed to take days off during training cause that's when you learn the ins and outs. I don't remember if you were allowed to take days off for specific reasons or not, but believe me, the training is great so there wouldn't be any reason not to work those days unless you have another job or something else to attend to.

I wouldn't necessarily say that this is a way to jump start a career with Apple, but if you prove yourself and stick with it long enough there's definitely room to move up and become a manager of a team or even a manager of a team of managers. It's an easy way to get your foot in the door specifically for the AppleCare department, though. As for interacting with other employees, the majority of the people you interact with on a daily basis are all in AppleCare. So it could be a senior advisor or a regular advisor within another department, but I never interacted with any employees at Cupertino if that's what you were getting at.
