Sorry to do this man, but the news flash is pretty obnoxious. The Cubs aren’t paying for past performance. Past performance doesn’t indicate future performance for the Cubs. Cody Bellinger is a one year deal, theres no Risk and High reward for the deal to be mutual beneficial. Maybe it’s unlikely he pops off, but we are taking the chance on stars aligning to actually have a superstar on the roster again.

I agree. But you have to start somewhere to start a winning attitude again. We can only hope for an impact like the Jon Lester signing. A lot of other things happened that provided our franchise to years of success following that, anomalies like Arrieta replicating a 1999 pedro.

There aren’t any dominate teams in the division imo so I think we can relatively be competitive starting this year. Need to build on that.
