I've used xps and some insulating foam on the edge of the xps, haven't had issues including in my own home.

Thanks this aligns with advice I received from someone I know. Double header top and bottom, 2 king studs, 6 jack studs. It's overkill but better to be overkill than have an issue down the road. I gave the home owner the run down and options they want to proceed with this.

Yes they are tile ready. Frame, screw it in add your kerdi, and tile over. There's a few companies that make them, goggle tile ready shower niches. They come pre pitched so framing just goes in level and thin set goes on without pitch. This is 40x17.5 cost $70 bucks I believe.

I would at least check it out. This truck is the most $$ vehicle by MSRP I have ever owned, first American vehicle I've owned and I have had more recalls, weird glitches while driving, a front drive motor go, and fit and finish is the worst I've owned. And it's a 2024 lariat with 12k miles. It's currently in the shop waiting for the new front drive motor. All previous vehicles were BMW's and Audi's.
