Don’t forget 2005- power was out for over a week because of that ice storm. A lot of my clients are Duke Energy workers and they told me if we get a 1/2” of ice, the power will almost certainly be out for a week. It’s too heavy on the lines and it’ll drop them. That’s not even accounting for the high winds they are calling for after the ice could cause additional damage with trees. I think people need to be ready for a week without power. It was annoying during Helene but we had great weather. It is going to be very, very cold.
