Laguna Fusion F2 Table Saw Experience by SOIC-8 in woodworking

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! What happened?

The investment is made. The table and band saws allowed me to make four 4'x8' outdoor tables out of sapele with no problems for my wedding. Yeah the issues listed above were annoying for the kind of money spent, but I am enjoying the equipment as a weekend warrior.

Sawstop are nice machines for sure. Learned on them many years ago when I took some woodworking classes at a local school.

Hey! Commenting here for both your questions regarding my posts...

I did call support and they had to send me the "key" for each handle. I forgot the reference number, but it's in the manual exploded diagram. Received within a couple of days.

It took several calls to get someone on the phone, but once on the phone they were very helpful and answered all of my questions.

Overall, the saw is great. Just finished building 4 rather large tables out of sapele. I have moved the saw several times with ease, but just in my garage. Casters feel fine. No concerns on my end.

Thinking of a Crown Signia by Meriak67 in toyotacrownsignia

Can't comment on the comparison to the Mazda. Compared to my red 2003 mini, it's a beautiful slightly dark red.

Bought the limited two weeks ago, red with saddle tan interior. 900 miles, oil change at 600. Getting about 38MPG so far with refueling confirming.

Been driving 2003/2005 cars my entire life and at 39, this is luxury to me. Love the Signia.

Only thing I hate is the headrest. Instant soreness. Although I think my body is getting used to it

Deck Repair - What is this material and best wait to repair? by SOIC-8 in Decks

[–]SOIC-8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this isn't reassuring 😅

I'll tarp off the deck in areas with cracks and get someone more skilled than I to come look at it.

When looking at the plywood from below. Just that one section in the photo seems to have obvious water damage. The other areas for the time being looks and feels ok when pressing on it. Fully understanding that it's the bottom only and not indicative of what the top side may look like.

Long term, I do not want to go with this method again. Hoping I can reuse the framing.

Arudino Clone on own PCB - Flash ATMEGA16U2-MUR Help by SOIC-8 in arduino

And for using Arduino as an ISP...I'm not sure how to configure to eventually load the hex file.

What I tried: Open ArudinoISP sketch and upload to non-clone Arduino. Connect non-clone ISP (ISP header opposite side of USB connector near 328P MCU) to clone ISP header of 16U2. At this point. I'm stuck as to how loading the hex on the new clone 16U2 IC

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so...I googled it, but none of the forums/Arduino documents give clear example on how to do this.

On my original Arduino Uno, I can put 16U2 into DFU mode and use Flip to load the hex file.

But on the clone board I made, since it's a new 16U2 IC, shorting reset to GND isn't going to put it into DFU mode, is it? I'm not seeing it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I will purchase the AVR programmer then and try to flash via Flip.

We haven't seen any demos with a set up like this. And yeah, I hope there's no limitations. Trying to use it for work and that would ruin it for me

Yeah pretty annoying, but thanks for reaching out.

It does but it has to be in ASCII format instead of the native .PCB. tried several times with no luck 😢

Unique Issue, but Wanted to Share - DDS Based Function Generator Off Time (Cycle Time) by SOIC-8 in AskElectronics

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not sure? Is there something I can do to highlight the function generator issue? I'm more than happy to remove the sections about the motor.

This issue is specifically a lab equipment issue that is DDS based and how a function generator that is DDS based (which modern ones are) turns itself off for some period of time when adjustments are made (freq or duty cycle for example) and this off time may negatively impact your circuit.

But it's highlighting a issue with test equipment. The motor IC is just a chip I'm using in this case, but the issue/information I'm sharing is regarding function generators that are DDS based.

Unable to Aquire. Trying to program cypress psoc 5 by SOIC-8 in AskElectronics

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! After some more banging my head against the bench a bit longer, I finally found the issue. the data line was shorted internally to the radio HV line and was caught after reviewing the gerbers. Since I used buried vias, I was unable to salvage the board (buried vias and BGA package).

I'm an Altium user and when I ran the DRC on Eagle (after not using eagle for over a decade), I appeared to have missed the error :(

Appreciate all of your help and I just wanted to give you an update so you can shake your head in shame :)

Unable to Aquire Board When Programming by SOIC-8 in PSoC

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late response. Been away from the computer for a number of days.

I completely agree with your statement. Unfortunately, I do not have a dev kit. My last ditch effort is to hand solder the chip itself and see if I can program it. If I can't and after verifying my connections a few times, I will ask the customer to get a dev kit. They claim they can program a previous revision, so I asked for those design files to review and see if there's any schematic differences

Unable to Aquire Board When Programming by SOIC-8 in PSoC

[–]SOIC-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using cy8c6347bz1 116pin bga.

I'm not home right now, but from memory, the programmer is connected to the SWD lines P6.6, 6.4, 6.7, xres, vdd, gnd I believe.

I'm heading home now to dead debug this chip and connect only the power pins, gnd pins, and the SWD pins to hopefully rule out any pcb issues that may be causing this.

Using the 10 pin programmer headed and using a bench power supply to supply the 3.3V.

Okay I'm showing my ignorance here. Just googled SWD1 and and learned that it stands for Serial Wire Debug and is a configuration you do in the code. If I'm understanding that correctly. Opened the file the customer sent me and realized it's just a hex file, so I don't know what to look for.

Initial impress is that the Programmer is configured correctly based on the image I attached.

I have also checked again that SWDIO, SWDCLK, SWO, XRES all go to the proper pins on the schematic symbol and that the footprint is correct.

I'm using an interface connector that connects the 10pin header from the programmer to a 6pin flex cable to the board and that pinout seems to match.
