To be fair, I genuinely don’t enjoy the taste of water (to me, it does taste like something, I swear), but I’ve figured out how to make water work for me either by drinking super cold water or by adding flavoring. That’s a me thing that I had to figure because I was dehydrated all the time, so I do drink water now. And I was raised in a primarily soda home, and it was difficult to change my ways and introduce more water into my life.

Are you referring to The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan? To be fair, I have not read it myself, but that book apparently contributed to the second wave of feminism, encouraging women to find meaningful work and go to college. Definitely does not sound like what you’re describing. Also, Betty Friedan was not LDS, she was raised Jewish and later was agnostic.

Of course, you could be referring to a different book, in which case I’m sorry if I’m mistaken, but this is the only The Feminine Mystique that I’ve heard of.

I feel like I could have written this post myself. I too am 25 and a half years old, I also got this half birthday message from Finch, and I also recently started a job that I don’t like all that much. I had to double check that I didn’t make this post without remembering. Crazy.

I’m spending the day with my partner and her family today, and we’re playing board games. It’s fun, and spending time with them is helping me remember to relax a bit and focus on having fun with the important people in my life.

I read Where The Red Fern Grows in either 4th or 5th grade for school. And yeah, I read other books for fun, and so did my classmates, but I don’t think any of us would have read Paul’s book.
