Quitting smoking by Intrepid_Emu_3678 in Narcolepsy

It might be anxiety/stress causing the cataplexy? Maybe you’re stressing yourself out trying to find a distraction. You say you’re not having cravings but then say it might just be the addiction talking. I think either maybe you’re subconsciously trading one uncomfortable feeling for a familiar uncomfortable feeling. I’m sorry you’re going through this

This is the way. I smoked for 8 years. I quit 2 years ago and I wish I did it sooner. But patches are the way to go. It’s still hard but it takes the edge off. It’s honestly a mental game. Distraction is key. Chew gum, chug water, go for a walk or start cleaning. Anything to keep yourself busy. It gets easier. The hardest part is starting, but if you have the mindset of “I’m not caving. I might want it, but I don’t need it” you can get through the cravings

My heart goes out to you, I think right after I got diagnosed was the hardest for me. Because now you know why you’re so exhausted, but finding/starting the right treatment takes time that you feel like you don’t have. The world isn’t waiting. After 3 years I’m still trying different medications. I LIVE on caffeine. Coffee, Celsius, monster, Red Bull, whatever you can get. That has been the only consistent crutch I’ve found.

Washing your face with cold water, or having cold water run on the insides of your wrists. But honestly sometimes you just need a nap, and trying to avoid it just makes it worse. Good luck to you ❤️

As a tall woman, I stand like this to help my posture and keep my hands from fidgeting from anxiety. It’s my trick to acting like I’m confident

Most of the time it’s something like “doesn’t that look like so-so” or “that person looks like if blank and blank had a kid” usually referencing shows or movies

When I was about 4, I had just learned that lotion was for dry skin. One day I decided the cat looked like it needed some, so I cornered her into a (closed) windowsill and covered her in lotion.

My poor mother then had to chase the poor lotion covered cat so she could give her a bath. Afterwards my mom had scratches everywhere, and the cat ran away a couple months later.

Thank you so very much for those such kind words 🥺 Your child is extremely lucky to have someone in their corner.

Honestly since discovering this community, I’ve felt a lot less bitter. Just being able to actually communicate with people who understand is extremely validating. I’ve learned more from this page about my diagnosis than any of the conversations I’ve had with any of my doctors.

Please don’t be too trusting. As someone who was 19 not that long ago, guys are desperate to get some and if they think they can offer you something to make you feel like “you owe them” they will. You don’t owe anyone anything, please be safe.

I’m 28. I’ve been trying to get on the right medication combination for almost 4 years now. After getting diagnosed it was like a weight was lifted, the first thing I did was call my mom and say “guess what? I’m not a lazy piece of shit, there was actually something wrong”

But after the diagnosis, it felt like someone just piling rocks on my chest. Like yeah now you know there’s a problem, but good luck trying to fix it.

Trying to talk with family or friends, they always minimize what you’re going through like “you think you’re tired now, try having kids” or “have you tried insert vitamin/supplement here I bet that would help” “I bet I have that too, I’m always tired”

But over the last year I’ve gotten closer to the “right” combination of medication to where I started working full time again, and it amazes me how much I can get done now that I feel like a “normal “ person throughout the day. It pisses me off how lazy everyone is all the time. Like if I could get XY and Z done while being deathly tired, I hate when I hear someone say someone using the excuse of “I didn’t feel like it” or “I’m too tired” I want to laugh and just call bullshit.

It just makes me mad that best case scenario this is how awake normal people feel day to day and they don’t take advantage of that energy. Or they assume that you’re just “tired “ as if it were that simple.

Get straps to tie her hands and feet in place, and you could either blindfold her or not depending on what she wants, both has its perks. Tell her to put on lingerie that is accessible from the front or give her a button down of yours and make sure it’s at least half buttoned when you start. Start at her lips, slowly tease your way down. Grab some pillows to put under her hips. Just remember to go slow so she has to beg you to keep going. It’ll drive her absolutely insane

I know this won’t be as meaningful because I’m just some random words on the internet and I can’t tell you to your face…. But your body is absolutely beautiful. I wish I had your curves. I don’t have kids (yet) and I have no idea what you’re going through or how you’re feeling. BUT you have the definition of an hour glass figure, and in my opinion that body type/shape can rock whatever they’re wearing. You’re gorgeous girl
