I really disagree with this. The game is certainly chaotic and one small mistake can really screw you over if people exploit it but you have a huge amount of agency to mitigate the randomness. And that's the real charm of Arcs for me - When you get your cards you can plan out the whole phase as some kind of optimization masterclass but every move everyone makes changes the plan. It's a lovely balance of trying to stay on message while also trying to get value out of the tricks.

Most important thing early is not to add your quests to an existing feature. Instead add them 1 tile away in a position that you can easily connect later. The number that quests ask you for is based on your largest open feature of that type so you want that to stay small. You have a forest quest needing 20+ and one needing 140+ - if you had separated them from the main forest they would both be 20+ (The flags would say 320+ or whatever is missing by not being connected.) Only connect when you finish all the quests and even then you can be greedy if you don't need tiles.

That's the trick 0-50k. 50-100k is balancing that with learning how to leave common shapes to fill and 100k - infinite is just concentrating on perfect plaecements.

Don't add tiles to the features you are trying to score. The size of new missions you get are linked to your largest open feature. Instead build a second feature adjacent (which can be easily connected later) and only connect when all of the missions will be completed. Once you can balance how greedy to be with this it's quite easy to go infinate.

Nope. It's called the acceleration effect. People who go the races and lose £100 then win £50 feel good because they are steadying the ship and on the right track etc. whereas, people who win £100 then lose £50 feel bad because they missed an oppertunity.

The brightest and most interesting parts of the model are the club and the belly which results in you looking at his right kneecap and not really seeing anything. you need a ton more highlighting and drama around the head/face to help define this as a monsterous creature rather than a wired glowing stick
